Would a 'Navigators' foot rest look good/ be usefull

Thinking aout getting one for my road going track 172.

The passenger seat has runners on it so it can be moved but id like it to be as far back as possible all the time. I dont want the passenger to have to adjust the seat so they can get their legs comfy or so they can push against the bulkhead. This could put the passenger seat much further forwad than my seat, not ideal.

So Im thinking of getting a foot rest like in rally cars

Just wondering what everyones opinion would be? Would it look shite?

Some good looking ones on ebay for a reasonable price, in silver.
