Would this Samco hose fit a 172 inlet?

Car  E92 M3,172 track car
Specs taken from the Samco site:
Bore Bore Wall thickness Leg length
70mm 2 3/4" 5.0mm 125mm
To be used in conjunction with the standard airbox on a Mk2 172.
Will the leg length be sufficient and could I vent the oil breather to the atmosphere?
 
Would I need to allow for the breather on the inlet elbow or could I simply vent it?

Len - is 70mm the correct internal diameter for the airbox outlet? Hoping so, as I've just bought a Viper in this size...

Commented on the other thread about the breather. I think it should be connected up, although I drove for some months before I found it had come loose...

I'm 99% certain this was the bore diameter I read this morning, though I can't remember my source.
Did you notice any difference in running during the time the hose wasn't connected?
As said, I have removed this, sealed it and vented the hose on a couple of previous cars without an issue I just wonder if the Clio is the same.

Only found out when I was removing the Hillpower IK so can't really say.

That's promising then I suppose in that you didn't realise there was an issue until you found it. I think I might block it temporarily and see what happens.

Is this not a cam cover breather then as I cannot understand the oily deposits?
 
the oily residue is from the crankcase ventilation that goes in the bottom of the throttle body (it pulls a little from there 'cos its closest to it) the rocker box breather goes to the charcoal canister :)
 
Just read your other post. I guess I would have found that out when I blocked it LOL.
How does the pipe affect the ISCV then, does it draw air or feed air into the inlet?
 
it draws air (bypassing the throttle body) and via a valve controls its flow into the inlet manifold. during cold start and idle
 
Ah, I thought it was a feed. It makes sense now.
Oh well, back to plan B.
