Shocking Exhausts... A Chavvy Guy at work fitted one to his Punto 1.2 8v and it made a hell of a noise

Arent the just basically a straight through pipe from mani to pipe. No cat centre boxes or backboxes :S

Thats what my driving instructor told me anyway. He fitted one to a van :S

they're basically bullet silencers, which is why they're so noisy

no sure when they first turned up - 60s/70s?

sound great on V8s; i remember a mate who had a SD1 with a pair on

  53 Clio's & counting
bloody hell blast from the past lol, most are just straight through pipes, cracking exhaust back in the early 90s lol

they're American and came out of the hot rodding scene; wasn't long before they made it over here and were being fitted to Cortinas and Chavettes

Loud exhausts on auto's sound awful. A omega round here has a SS exchaust and it just sounds cack because they hold the ratio's for ages without accelerating much if you get me.

There was a cherry bomb centre section on the clio, before I ripped it off in disgust, and spat on it.

decent quality boxes for a center section TBH. Fitted a couple of cherrybomb muff-diver boxes to help with noise levels for track use and they did the job spot on. Back boxes are a bit tack though
