I've been keeping an eye out periodically for availability, and just managed to get a pre-order in on the Game site - they are suggesting availability from March 26th, so might be worth a look if anyone is still trying to order...

Finally got my hands on a Series X today. Pretty shocking how hard they are to get hold of even this long after launch. Only got it because Argos were randomly stocking shops rather than doing delivery and one happened to be at my local shop so quickly jumped on it.

Just decided to check on the Halo Infinite launch date (and corresponding limited edition console) and all pre-sales are sold out! FYI console is 15th Nov, Halo Infinite is 8th Dec.

Afternoon chaps, OK this is the situation:

I have a PS5, But I really want to play flight simulator.

I've not had an XBox since the 360 many moons ago, and am not fussed about running from a disc. Also my TV is not 4K and I'm not thinking about upgrading it for the next few years.

Therefore would the Series X with the all access route @ ~£20/m be a good shout? Am I missing something?

Personally I would recommend going for the X. Whilst it does cost more it also offers a significant bump in performance for a bit of future-proofing and for the time when you do perhaps decide to go 4K. It also offers improvements over and above what the S can deliver with Flight Simulator (predominantly improved levels of detail) - even at 1080p.

I think you can buy keys from the likes of CD Keys.

But I'd recommend Game Pass Unlimited, especially if you get 3 years of gold and then convert it.

Thank you, I have games pass currently, I'm looking for COD which isn't on games pass but I'm reluctant to spend the £60 or so it is for the game when I'll only realistically play the campaign!

Afternoon, stupid question I expect but I think I've finally been given permission to spend money I earn on myself so was going to get a new Xbox finally.

I have been reading some stuff and it keeps mentioning games that are Series X exclusive. Does this mean that they won't work on the Series S?

I’m pretty sure games are Series S/X exclusive due to the newer hardware.

However, if I was looking to buy now I’d go with the X. It’s a big jump up from the S.

Microsoft, if they are to be believed, have committed to the Series S and X for the near future - hence most (if not all) titles that are exclusive to X will also be playable on S, although degraded to some level to account for the drop in hardware capability. @Daz... speaks the truth. It's worth going for the X as it IS a significant upgrade over the S and will prove to be the better purchase long-term. With the economy in the state it's in, and ridiculous component prices, I can't see any of the major console players releasing their next-gen consoles for a few years yet.
