XBOX360+LAPTOP= NO XBOX LIVE?

Hi just bought my bro's 360 off him and have it in my room. My PS3 is wireless as is my laptop so have never needed anyting else. I plugged my 360 into my laptop via the ethernet cable but i still cant access the net. What am i doing wrong?

You're going to have to use an ethernet crossover cable.

if you have troubles with that why dont u just get a wireless adaptor ? can pick them up cheap 2nd hand from somewhere like CEX !

Possibly, I've tried with ethernet cable but cant get any pics :S

I cant run ethernet cable to my router as its too far awa. Might get a wireless adaptor though eventually to save the hassle with laptop...

yeh you need to change a few settings. but works fine if you get it right. ive always ran mine off my laptop, untill laptop broke

You need a crossover. Unless your Laptop or 360 supports auto MDI/MDI-X
