xenon light starter question.

As one of my lights only works intermittently I thought Id have a poke around to see whats what. Now I know that each bulb has a starter to light it up in the first place, but Im not sure of exactly where that is. Is it the black box thats attached to the back of the bulb surround? I took one part out but Im not sure if this is the whole starter or not.

Ive taken a couple of pics, sorry about the bluryness, the camera kept wanting to auto focus to the background...

So is this the starter for the bulb or not? If not, which part is the starter?

my 182 was doint the same , I.E , o/s light going out , took it to renault and it turned out it was the alternator that was faulty and the computer was shutting things off to conserve power , take it to your dealers m8 .

Wheres your sense of adventure?

Car isnt under warranty anymore so it wont be a freebie. I was hoping I could try swapping over the starters to see if its just one them thats on the piss.

Anyway, can anyone point out to me where the starters are located?

that just looks like a HV connector for the lamp

id say the starter will be a metal case box about the size of two fag packets

plus the voltage drops to 85v after about 10th of a second
