  Burgandy 174 sport t

just back from the dealers!!! first thing he said was "I was just about to phone you"

Ne ways he also said good news we are now waiting on the parts to arrive!!

so next week the baby will be goin in for its xenon treatment, hopefully with out complimentary scratches and dents!!

Now for some compo!!!

am I entitled to any???

what should I go for??

Good work Iain, they have to make it hard for you tho dont they when this should have been sorted days ago !

As for compo, I have never had any dealings like this so I would not like to hazard a guess, I am sure there must be enough fault there somewhere for at least a try.

I trust you also checked that these non xenon lights where fitted during a full frontal rebuild ?

If the sales dept smacked the car they might have opted for a cheap repair.

At the production line when the cars are being built they order in the expected number of parts required,
So say 100 cars are being built and the delivery truck dont turn up in time with the production of the car, with a production line you cant just stop it ,it would cost way way to much money to do this, so an similar part is fitted to prevent stopage.
One example of this is they sent over 2000 cars over here that should have had alloys fitted, but because they didnt get them in time they had to fit steel rims and tyres.
All the cars affected by this are noted down and when they arrive at the import centre the correct wheels and tyres would be fitted.
All the steel wheels and tyres had to sent for scrap.
I expect this may have been what happened with the xexon lights but maybe the note to say change to xexon got forgotten.

It should have been spotted anyway ate the PDI and the final inspection at the dealer.

Good luck Iain.... You will enjoy your new lights, as I find them one of the most trick parts of the car.......Dont know if this is true or not, but I once heard that it is bad to cut wires in the loom and use connectors to join a new unit, as this changes the resistance of the circuit and can cause the fuses not to blow properly when and if needed! Maybe check that they dont do this when fitting your new ones, or at least see if you can find any truth in what I suspect.. In any case ENJOY!;)

By the way, it probably cost those idiots less than £1200 to sort this for you, as they will have got the units at trade price through parts! I think this is a £900 upgrade over standard on all clios bar the cup and 172, so you should get a little sweetner from them like a set of mats if you didnt get them too...... My 172 came as an import from the Netherlands with no alarm at all if that helps in the future.
