Bah Bah, CS sheep, do you have Turinis?

It was always going to happen! I've been looking for a perfect set, preferably with Trophy offset and when i heard these were for sale i had to have them.

They were supposed to have 3-4mm tires left so when these turned up i was not impressed:

Anyway the seller still insisted there was ''thousands of miles left on them'' but i kept them because i've got my tires from my cup pack wheels and the wheel themselves are mint and sound <<:rolleyes:

Looks good mate!

Anyone know the paint code for the wheels?

Cheers, I dont know it. I didnt know there was one for the Renault Anthracite. Rover stone grey (iirc) is a really good match.

I'll be honest and say i wasnt sure when i put them on. After a few days i really thought it makes the car look more purposeful. It gets more comments from randomers now too.

haha yeah i sold them, got them checked and tyre company said there were miles left on them. Delivered them FOC from Co Durham to Coventry and did offer to collect them FOC if Curley wasnt happy with them.

Its a long story but i am glad Curley is now happy

:)

No no no no... When I brought this to your attention and sent you the pictures it was then YOU said that YOU would get thousands of miles out of them.

I'm not happy with your lies, which you still seem to be doing by the looks of above.. or the fact you wouldnt compensate a little back to put towards tires.

SCREW LOWERING IT, 182/172/CUP/TROPHY/V6 chassis were all designed for their own purpose, handling is fine as is, thousands of man hours went into the setup, dont see why everyone is so into "slamming it"...

I still cant afford anything other than a 1.6 but I have cup suspension on my clio and its far better handling than any of these aftermarket springs etc. I can see why people like to have expensive bilstein coilovers etc on their cars to set a lower ride height but its such a lot of money for performance that lets be fair isnt any quicker than any clio sport designed chassis. Lowered cars are a pain in the arse on roads umless you are tracking them. I think he should leave it as is.... looks lovely mate, dont wreck the ride of the car :)

Looks great.

You should've banged some cheap repo wheels on there that look worse than Turinis.

At least people will say 'nice one for being different'

Even though they'd be sh*t and everyone would know it.

I'm not being funny, but you built your own throttle bodied track car and you needed to ask a 'companies' opinion wether the tyres were fcuked or not??

They're on the limit! Look at the pictures!!

F'LOL, just what i was thinking. My mother could tell me they don't have thousands of miles left.

Looks good by the way mate, prefer them to the 182 wheels.

Thanks for the comments. Really appreciate it.
Turinis are the common upgrade for a reason ;)

As for the suspension debate I have always said I wouldn't skimp on coilovers. I'd look at H&Rs. I do have eibach sportlines on ATM which I'm more than happy with, it could be lower but handling is the main thing.

As said, the tires are suspect. Well.. GUILTY. Best thing about it is I specifically told him that the sale and price would souly depend on the tread left on the tires. I was gutted when these turned up.

Dont really want to get involved in this but, I gave you the heads up that Carl would be selling the wheels. (so you had first dibs because i knew you wanted some)

Carl told you he thought the tyres had about 3mm on them (Carl was not at home so did not have the wheels to hand)

Carl arranged to get the wheels delivered to your door for no cost.

The night before the wheels were going to be delivered to you, you PMd carl, asking for money off the agreed price because you were not able to get all the money together, Carl agreed to this.

You asked Carl for some locking wheel nuts because you didnt have any, so he gave you the locking wheel nuts of our track car, for free.

When you were not happy with the tyres Carl told you that he would have them collected (the same day) and you could have your money back which imo was fair as carl had other offers for the wheels (all above what you paid)

Yes, to which i was grateful BUT that is nothing to do what we are talking about here.. I sent him pictures of the tires after i got them to which got a load of bulls**t back in PMs. I even said get the lad that he sent from your dads business near Coventry to come back and have a look for himself after Barron said the tires were ''pefectly fine with thousands of miles left on the tires''.

I wanted to keep the wheels but the tires are supposed to have 3-4mm left on them so i asked him for a small refund (£25 small). He didn't want to co-operate so that is why everyone now knows he is a f**king liar!

The only reason i have kept these is because Trophy wheels in good nick are hard to get hold off but there was no need to lie to get a sale, specifically after i said the tread left will depend on the price i offer.

Anyway.. enough of bickering in this thread!!! Negative feedback will be left, people can see that he talks b****cks and everyone is happy :D

a 98' megane one IIRC?

Yeah the old Megane, you'll probably find one from a scrappy. It'll need cutting down and bending to fit. I might fix my cup splitter soon so this will be up for sale.

You can't go wrong with H&R's IMO.

I can't help wanting my car lower too, I like the front but the backs too high for me!

Get some decals for the wheels - makes them look soooo much better.
