Zymol

Thinking of changing car polishes AGAIN!!! I just can't seem to find one that makes me think WOW when I have cleaned my car!

Im currently using Auto Glym products and yes the wax is good and so is the polish but I still think there could be more products out there that can offer better protection and a deeper shine.

Ive been recommended 'Zymol', does anybody use this?

If so, some feedback about the product would be appreciated before I go and spend a fortune on the stuff,

Warren.

What zymol product are you looking at?

As far as waxes go people rate carbon and glasur.

Not too sure on any of the other products though.

Whats your current cleaning regime i.e. when you do a proper detail and cleanse, what stages do you go through?

no point in spunking loads of $$ on Zymol when it might not improve the looks if your doing poor prep of the paint

I try and clean my car as often as I can... Normally 2 possibly 3 times a week. (maybe abit of OCD, I know, but I travel up and down the motorway everyday)

I try to give the car a FULL detail every 4/5 months which consists of:

* Wash car (2 bucket method)
* Rinse & Dry with microfibre cloth
* Iron X
* Auto Glym Claybar
* Auto Glym Super Resin Polish
* Auto Glym Ultra Deep Shine
* Auto Glym HD Wax

The results are good for the colour of my car but I just thought with everyone banging on about this Zymol it my be better?

Hmmm, I've heard mixed comments on the residue... I think your going to get a little bit aren't you?

I'll give it a whirl and see what the outcome is! I'll get some pics up when I get round to doing it with this sh*t weather haha

Zymol stuff seems to leave that horrible chalky residue all over the car when ive used it

User error mate. I can use Carbon on hard plastic and it won't leave marks.

For the removal of doubt Zymol don't actually sell "polishes" they specialise in waxes and a few prep products. It's a big jump from AG straight into Zymol produicts.

Maybe hone your prep skills before investing in expensive waxes.

So you've got a decent clean base when applying the wax which is a good start

personally I've moved anyway from autoglym but if there used properly they still offer a very good finish, if your hoping that just by whacking on some Zymol wax it will improve it massively then I'm afrid you'll probably be disappointed..

Has the Car been machine Polished? or are you rocking some swirls?

For me on Dark blue i would go with firstly another good clean and strip everything you've currently got on and start with a nice clean base

wash
IronX
De-tar
Clay
Rinse
Dry
Prima Amigo or Poorboys Blackhole or Zymol HD cleanse if you go for Zymol wax
Zaino Z2 or your chosen Zymol wax
Zaino Z-8
Wipedown With Zaino Z16 to finish

I s'pose your right! No, it hasn't had a machine polish yet as I have had the bottle to try it yet haha! A friend of mine on here (n9oll) does machine polishing so when the weather gets abit better I will let him loose on it! I'm starting to get very fine scratches an I'm not sure where there coming from, I use the 2 bucket method, the mitt I use an all the cloths are cleaned so I'm not too sure! 'Withoutabix' I think I'll try that method 1st before a machine polish to see how it turns out! Thanks for all your help guys :)
