Me either. It goes to get the cage and harnesses fitted early Jan. Same boy that restored the old boys Elan is doing it. I'm confident in his ability.

Technically it's due a belt change this year, June i think, but i'm going to leave it till winter next year and ship it down south to SG Motorsport. Onyl doing 1-2k miles in it a year just now. Or zero this year.

Safety Devices cage now fitted:

Hi Ali

Very nice roll cage. Would you please tell me where did you get this roll cage? I would like to get one for my Vee which is a 2002 phase 1.
I just fitted a pair Sparco bucket seats on my Vee. See image attached.

HKSAR - Cage is from Safety Devices. Bought through Corby Motorsport, it took 4 months to come!

I 'kind of' regret fitting the cage, more pose than purpose in my case. Issues are you have to hack the engine cover to bits which looks messy, but also means it's alot louder. In addition to this it becomes much stiffer at the back, so now i get quite alot of understeer; this can be corrected but worth taking into account.

I had the cage fitted at a motorsport workshop and it was a time consuming (read expensive) job! - If you have the facilities and tools, it's not a hard job!

Also car will come off the road soon and in for some fairly major work. Belts, Clutch, Flywheel, headwork, valves, exhaust, blah blah blah...Blank Cheque affair. Oh and another repray.

Rear bumper mod to expose exhuast
Partial respray.

Interior:

Lower seats
Retrim steering wheel
Retrim headliner and pillars
New Clear Engine Cover

Mechanicals:

Full Cambelt Service
Aux Belts
New Clutch
Plugs, Fluids
General Health Check...Think an oil seal needs replaced somewhere
New Exhaust (custom box, link pipe delete)
Airbag wiring issue
New undertray
New Arch liners and Grills as part of front bumper replacement.

That should about cover it!

Good read, never fancied the Blue on the V6 but those pictures look really good.

Always liked the look of a Black/Mars Red V6 best.

Thought i best update this a little..seeing as 95% of the above never got done last year.

Unfortunately the Vee has only been out the garage once in the last 14months...And straight to Protek (Gally) Bodyshop to have some cosmetic work done following a minor altercation with a fox in 2012.

Now I'm turning my attention to the above list or at least parts of it. Some aspects I've changed my mind on.
