So It has been pretty smooth sailing with the clio for the past 6 or 7 months but Now have a problem and wondering if anyone could shine some light.

I noticed a slight bearing, knocking noise, you wouldn't notice if you went listening for it.

Hand a look round the engine and noticed that the crank pulley has a slight wobble?

but then used a piece of wood to listen for the noise and the noise is loudest when wood is directly on the AC pump.

Is there supposed to be a slight wobble on the crank pulley?

not sure if the AC is broke? it still works perfectly fine? or if the pulley on the AC is broken or if the noise is coming from the crank pulley?

Anyone had and issues like this?

Cambelt and all tensioners were replaced at 69K, car is ok 77k, belts were done 3 years ago

I had a look at that thread and imagined that crank pulley must have wobbled alot, mine is just a slight wobble and he didnt mention anything about a bearing noise from the ac?

Does it stop if the aircon is off?

No It is the same with the aircon on and off?

As you say, it could be the aircon pulley bearing.

I`m afraid the only way to be sure is to drop the aux belt off and rotate the pulley by hand.

I assume there is no constant movement of the aux belt tensioner spring with the engine running?

I havent managed to get that far checking wise, wanted to do some research first before i had a proper look.

I read one post that said the crank pulley can have a slight wobble from new, anyone heard that before, I assure its not supposed to wobble at all?
