@NorthloopCup @Eddie555
Cheers for the heads up boys, not something I’m currently planning on but good for thought.

@Tom Johnson, care to drop me a price for a Clio rear cage with harness bar(s).
Be interested in a price for both CDS and the same in T45. 🙂
No problem at all mate 👍🏻
Ill fight ya......... or maybe NOT...[emoji1787]

Lol! 2 shots each. You go first. And I’ll wake you up after I’ve had my turn. 😂😂😂

I have a Wiechers rear strut bolted in, certainly wouldn’t mount harnesses to it, although I am mounting mine to the original rear belt holes but I’m sure a lot of others are as well tbh:

Why would you mount safety harnesses dangerously when you can just get an extra bar welded in to the cage??

Well I was hoping for a thread like this someday so I could post up and get some free abuse... obviously I wasn’t aware of this Daniel 😊 I guess MOT’s don’t care about this then as long as they are ‘secure’ in their eyes?

This thread has taken a turn for the better! Seeing as we're all chatting cages, and the OP has buggered off, does anyone know if its feasible to extend a SW Motorsport bolt in rear cage into a full cage? Or is it not cost effective?
Presumably the fact it would be a full cage and also bolt in is a bit of a waste of time, but I'm just throwing ideas about.

Ok, I haven’t but was hoping I can run a harness off the top part of this brace for track days when I lower the rear seats?

I was thinking about something like this because Im not going full cage and dont feel safe without a harness on track. Is this perfectly fine to do?

The issue with harnesses and no cage is that in a rollover, where a 3 point ordinary seatbelt will allow your body to be forced over and towards the centre of the car (the shoulder with no seatbelt over it), harnesses with no cage means you'll be held nicely in your seat while your neck is broken.
That said, I think Clio's are pretty strong in rollovers aren't they? That's the thinking behind it.

Standard seatbelt + no cage = fine
Standard seatbelt + cage = death
Correctly mounted harness + cage = fine
Correctly mounted harness + no cage = death
Incorrectly mounted harness + anything = death
Correctly mounted harness, cage & Covid 19 = death
