Not getting up to temp?

Not sure about the wiring, I'll need to check that. The battery was new 2020 after lock down. I think it is a decent make if I remember right.

I'm tempted to just chuck a new sensor in it

Was it a genuine coolant temp sensor you fitted the last time?

ive had to put a thermostat on every one of mine, first thing i do when i buy one as they never get up to temp properly. New thermostat and coolant flush and they are good as gold again!

Had it in the garage today and of course the issue didn't happen. Driving home the temperature plumeted and the revs wouldn't drop below 2k, and the engine light came on 😫

Eventually dropped to normal idle as the temp sprung back up to half way. They are supposed to be fitting a new thermostat tomorrow, but I'm going to have to speak to them because there's no way it's that.

Hopefully the fault code from the engine light will tell them something.

Oh and I also had it in for a new horn and they've fitted a bloody noddy horn. Sounds s**t.

Why is it either love or hate with this car? It's never just fine

Noddy horn 🤣 you know you want a Dukes of Hazard sounding one.

Hopefully it's just the thermostat, fingers crossed for you.

Well, the fault code was the temp sensor. Garage fitted a new one and all is good again.

They said it might be a wiring issue if the new sensor didn't fix it. But I've just been for a thorough test drive and it feels 100% fine. No movement on the temp needle at all.

So the last sensor lasted 6 months. This car sure does chew through parts in a hurry

I’ve got an issue with mine where the temp needle barely moves above the first or second line and the heaters don’t blow hot air - this is always when the temp outside is about 5 deg or less. Why do you think this is?

Just replaced my thermostat the other day. Question is- why do these fail SO BADLY? It basically shredded apart wtf. This is the second one in the last 3 years, the original one lasted 15 years or so
Any ideas? are there some stronger units out there? 367387414_360215903123561_9060464989000280390_n.jpg

O.e or aftermarket?

All made of finest chinesium thin steel now i guess.

On the older cars they used to stick closed which was bad so id say breaking or sticking open is the better out of the two, but still sh*te.
