Ordered, thanks for the help mate šŸ‘

Wheres the best place to get some sockets and adaptors?!

Well played. Not even the most occasional DIY'er has ever regretted having the right tool for the job. Just keep buying now haha.

Didnā€™t work on full charge, balls. So would a 1/2ā€ work if I bought a body only?!

I don't even know how to reply to this other than to acknowledge it's happened.

I blame Dan for not realising when I told him my 55mm socket was 1/2ā€ that I clearly meant 1ā€.

But in all seriousness am I better getting the 1/2ā€ drive socket to use with 3/8 gun, or 1ā€ socket on a 1/2ā€ gun?
Or just stick with my breaker bar and stop being a wimp like you lot?

25+ times a year, but eventually Iā€™ll slip and take a chunk out my expensive wheel with it.

Picked up the Milwaukee 3/8ā€ long neck ratchet last night so had its first use today. Snap on price was just silly really and didnā€™t realise it wasnā€™t even the new brushless (at Ā£480 with a ā€˜discountā€™)

Has anyone got a link to cheapest place to get 6.0 M12 batteries?

It almost seems more sensible to buy another impact just to get a couple of batteries going off the prices of them through my local FFX

Try SGS, they have some stuff in the black Friday sale.

Did go on powertoolmate but couldnā€™t see the offer. You can find the page by googling Black Friday m12b6 but itā€™s a dead page now.

I managed to fix my 6a battery last night though. Had to desolder the wires and pull it all apart. Turned out one of the spot welded metal tabs had come off under one of the upright batteries. Thought it would be my prev solder repair on another tab but thatā€™s still holding. Soldered the tab on and all good to go for a bit more.

Wish theyā€™d gunmetal finish the metal parts of their tools though. Why they thought painting the metal would be a good idea I donā€™t know. Forgot how nice they looked when new!

You can prob just see it on the ratchet where I poked it next to the plastic loom cover on a Vivaro reaching in for the starter motor bolt yesterday and it took the paint straight off.

Somethingā€™s gotta give at the price point I guess but Iā€™d happily pay more for a hard wearing ā€˜proā€™ finish.

Bloody handy to use the ratchet though.

Good boy

What are you after?

Sds, combi, impact driver, probably a planer too and a splash of 5 amp batteries to start with. Got some DIY to get cracking on in the new house.

Mate at work is trying to persuade me to go Makita instead of Milwankee

Kyle will be able to advise on the sds.

I have the WiFi drill (WiFi is a gimmick on it) and it's been absolutely spot on. Its very powerful and doesn't get hot. I've had the displeasure of using a bosch one before and it got hot ridiculously quick. No idea on makita.

The gen 3 impact driver is absolutely mega. Used it the other night putting up a blind and it's effortless. @leeds2592 has used his a fair bit too.

What I will say is if you look at the bundles, they sometimes aren't the latest models so can be inferior. You think you're getting a good deal when in reality you're not as the performance is not there.

I would suggest going on powertoolmates website and do the build a bundle bit. It's really intuitive and user friendly too.

Fwiw I was about to spend Ā£1300 the other week. I asked ptm for discount and they said no. They said their prices are already priced competitively which is true.

5amp batteries are really cheap with milwaukee

Thats annoying they wonā€™t discount if youā€™re spending a lot. Iā€™ve done a few of the kit builder things, prefer to pick exactly what I want as they all have 1 or 2 bullshit things in and as you say lower spec stuff.

Iā€˜ll keep my eyes peeled for what I fancy. For now Iā€™m just happy the childā€™s impact I have works as I wanted!
