I reckon most of you know the car.

6hrs on a train and 5hrs drive back it’s home in one piece.

Jobs to do?

- Remove bobbles from seats
- Refit rear 1/4 cards
- Source a quiet exhaust as the PMS system is too loud for me
- Paint correct the car
- Oh and sort the engine

Seller was a nice chap and looked after the car well.

Shite picture.

In all seriousness. It's great that this has stayed within the forum.
Looking forward to how this progresses!

Received two rebuild quotes for a drive in/out service. Pretty hefty 4.5k but done properly.

Will look for a good replacement engine as it’s more economical with less downtime. However if nothing good pops up - rebuild it is.
I'd love to see a breakdown of what would be done for that price.

Perhaps skilled trades like mechanics have been under valued in the past, and now it seems like there's less people wanting to enter the trade this pushes prices up. Also you could buy a Clio for that money, but not one with a fully rebuilt engine from a reputable garage.

I haven’t got my glasses on, and read that as “remove boobies from seats”

First question was why remove them. Second question was where can I get seats with boobies on them.

Third thought was what the actual frig am I on about.

Engine rebuild price does seem spicy at first glance but then it’s a lot of labour if done properly. Everything is expensive these days. Old man yells at cloud etc.
