Guess I should update this thread
Shortly after the post before this one I parked the 5 up and went back to the trusty Clio (Moe) for daily duties. Despite basically doubling my expenses the charging situation was killing me mentally.
The 5 basically didn’t turn a wheel for 9 months until this July when the weather was hotting up and Moe’s AC was struggling

so I made the decision that I’d use the 5 as the AC was a work necessity.
In the 9 months that the 5 was parked up a petrol station in Chelmsford installed 4 ultra rapid charging points which happened to be quite conveniently located for me and are currently running a 25% discount until the end of September

this has made EV life more bearable and as a result I don’t actually hate it as much anymore.
In all honesty it wasn’t just the AC that was stressing me out, I was having to reset fault codes almost every journey as I was getting an ever more persistent clutch 2 torque error, a lambda error and a fuel component in poor condition error.
My clutch touch point values were getting to the point where they shouldn’t be even working so I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new clutch pack.
I figured that while I was there doing that I might as well do the flywheel and seals.
So the list of parts that got replaced this week is:
Clutch pack
Flywheel
Both crank seals
Driveshaft seals
Input shaft bearings
Input shaft seal
AC condenser
Cooling Rad (found it split when I removed the bumper)
Drop links
Bottom coolant hose (Top one is on back order but that does need replacing too)
While underneath having an extensive look I found some more things that need to be sorted.
It’s missing an exhaust manifold stud (that might explain the error codes!), the cam carrier or cover is leaking oil, not excessively yet but I want to get it sorted. The crank seal behind the pulley had started to weep so I’m glad I decided to change that.
For now, she’s driving ok, gear changes are nice again but boy it feels nice to drive a proper car again

Here’s to another 241,900 miles
The bottom hoses on these 200/220’s are renowned for the bottom hose clips perishing. However, a few years ago I noticed mine was rubbing on the fan cowling so took some steps to prevent it rubbing through the actual Pipe. As you can see, it’s quite aggressive.!
Anyone else think this was on its last knockings!
