GTA 6

Decided to start a play through of GTA Vice City today, I must have been about 12 or 13 when it came out and I put a lot of hours into it but mainly just messing around, I remember the RC helicopter and the shooting out of a helicopter missions as being very difficult but not so hard it seems these days.

I already had the trilogy on switch but only ever played 3 on it, it's not bad, bit clunky at times but I don't have any way of hooking my PS2 up to the TV so it'll do. Didn't feel I could justify buying it again on PS5.

I think I'm just over half way through the main missions, I don't know if I even ever unlocked the second big island as a kid but I've already done a fair few missions on it today

Everyone is obsessed with graphics these days but a good core game is just far more important, really enjoying it.

I could have sworn at the time you started it and then went right into a little side alley and there was a faggio, you jumped on and Billie Jean started playing. But I could be misremembering it as it is 24 years ago

I’d have been 21 then and still very much up to mischief so my memory might be compromised

My recollection is that you get in and drive a white Mercedes W123 with Billie Jean on the radio, but then again it might be the narcotics talking

There is a scooter by the first place you go in the alley, don't think billy jean played on the definitive edition but it is a bit different as you select your default station in settings. Some of the songs were removed for licensing reasons but a lot are still there.

There is a Faggio and an Admiral in the alley. You just usually take the Merc when you start.

Is the trilogy game worth getting?

I played Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories on PSP.
Those were my first GTA games
Then GTA 4 on Xbox 360 after that.

100% worth playing, along with GTA 3.

They are clanky as hell but if it wasn’t for those games there would be no GTA 6.

I went from original GTA straight to GTA 5 so that was a bit of a shock upgrade lol.

I saw something on YouTube the other day about the RC missions on VC. Apparently they fucked up a bit with the fuel gauge on it so changed it on later releases and downloads to make it easier.

Yep, Vice City is the one that got me into GTA, as you say just cannot feel the same playing it now.

The Helicopter mission got an extra 30s I read online, that's the change they made. It didn't have a fuel limit but maybe the later plane one does, not got to that yet. Finished with about 3m left so I'm happy I didn't need it

Yep, Vice City is the one that got me into GTA, as you say just cannot feel the same playing it now.

I'm downloading the trilogy on ps store today. Its 18 quid.

Or its 16 quid on the switch 2.
Think it'll probably be better controls on the PS though

I wonder if the trilogy is any good after a few years. The original versions are the best if you can get them. PS2 emulation is easy these days.

Id probably just go play gta 4 as a jump right in game. It's essentially a UK simulator right now.

Have downloaded it today. Hopefully start one of them later. I imagine the play through isn't as big as the newer games.
