The whole brand screams scame to me!

I have a new valeter starting Monday hoping to go soley Koch Chem after Infinity wax was sold and no longer in Dingbro. Will speak to my new guy and see if we can get all professional set up!

Oh and sealant wise I was impressed with the Gyeon one, c2v3 still superb. BSD still not a fan, application compared with the competition is night and day.

Looks wise @JD mix Zaino z8 with c2v3 for darker colours, thank me later!

I didn’t like the EZ car care stuff. One of the products (I can’t work out which) made a mess of my Cupra leaving what looked like water spots all over it and took ages to get it off. Haven’t used the stuff since.

Might be all user error but I’ll just stick to what I know and used before (AG polar stuff).

Shame Infinity Wax got sold - that was one company i'd find 99% of stuff was great.

Their QD/spray wax was always fantastic, used to flash off really nicely.

I hope them selling up doesnt turn them into a shitshow

I agree. One of the only brands that were almost great at every product and from a trade cost it was unbelievable.

Koch Chemie is the same all good products but more expensive.

That's the one. It doesn't like even a hint of sunlight. Which I forgot about when ordering that bundle and added another litre to the 3 I already had left in a 5l tub.

Yeah it’s s**t. Much prefer AG Polar Seal. A joy to use.

Since the X5 is in for repairs again I thought I'd give the Honda a spruce up as it was looking very sorry for itself and had collected a few car park scuffs since it last wash a year ago.

Wash, clay and quick polish of the scuffs. Then cleaned up the headlights, will put some coating on that tomorrow.

Always impressed at how much difference headlights make!

That is true. I wouldnt want them bright black, that might look weird. But they look so sad when they're that grey!

@Sidnancy please don't start, these trims are the bane of my existence..

They're an absolute pain, nothing really works on them for some reason. I have tried Gyeon trim, some other coating and a few wipe on products. Cleaned with IPA, eith Gyeon prep and even had some test spots with magic erasers but it all goes patchy. The only thing that didn't go patchy was Autofinesse revive, but that doesn't last.

Seen Brigsy have great succes with Cerakote wipes though so ordered some of them to try next week.

The trims don't go black, they're a medium grey and the car looks great when they're done!

Here, for you Will, they've been cleaned, Gyeon prep and then Gyeon trim applied. They do look much better but can still see the patchy pattern in them.

Ps. I hate the weather. Supposed to rain this afternoon, was dry so washed the cars. Then said it was going to be dry until tomorrow afternoon so put the coating on the headlights, now pouring down

@MLB id genuinely try something properly ceramic if you can - it has a similar finish, so you may not get away from the patchy-ness of it, but it lasts forever. Years.

Most 'ceramic' stuff is utter nonsense these days, you need something with high solid content. Gtechniq C4/C5 (Trim & wheels is chemically identical so go with withever is cheaper) is my go-to. But there are others. Ive found most ceramic coatings, proper ones, will darken trim.

@Hixle - get the pics out of the Porker trims!

Gtechniq and Gyeon are similar really.

How much did you apply @MLB and did you let it sit for a while before wiping the excess off?

An excessive amount in my opinion, saturate the applicator and wipe on thick making sure everything gets coated in the first layer, wipe on in a criss cross patter and wipe off after 20-30 seconds.

I've also done the plastic trims in front of the window and all the plastics on the clio, just like in @Hixle picture. That worked perfectly and they are looking as new, so I don't think it's product or user error.

And as @JamesBryan says, Gyeon Trim and Gtechniq C4 are pretty similar stuff.

I'll see what the cerakote wipes are like, but either way, it's a £1000-1500 on a good day so not the end of the world.
