What springs to buy, and from where?

ring Andrew on 07718790098, we normally have them in stock or can get them to you within 2days, sometimes there are none in the country and you have to wait upto 2 weeks

whats the difference between Sportlines and Prolines?
Also if the car is lowered will it need anything setting up to compensate for this? i.e will the tyres still wear even or is it a case of just putting the new springs on!?

Prolines don't lower as much as Sportlines, that's about it. Ride + Handling are supposedly nigh on identical.

I've got Prolines along with brand new Renault shocks and the difference is amazing.

I know a 172 full fat and 182 no cup packed owner who both said their low mileaged standard shockers were totally f****d after only 6-7 months on Apex, is this a common problem due to standard shockers working outside their limits ?

Yep they do wear out quick there could be other reason thats whay I'd always change springs and dampers together.
Stock damper life is difficult to be certain on I killed mine in 50k or so with normal springs.

No, took out standard 182 w/cup packs then mine (b4 I crashed it!), def a step up. Body control is tighter, turn in improved. Fred told me that pro/sport handle the same.

I put Eibach pro springs and dampers on mine. It dropped her 30mm. The handling is superb! She rides bumps and potholes really well now instead of jumping all over the road. The car hardly feels any different to drive either. I think it is probably the best thing I have done for my car. She looks the mutts nuts now. I'll put a pic up later after the recovery guy has fixed her. (I hope) I highly recomend them.

  VW ....

Isn't the handling on sportlines meant to be gash because they lower that bit more ?? :S

ran on prolines before i changed to sportlines cause i wanted it to sit lower ,the back didnt drop any lower but the front did but the handling wasn't affected :S

I just nipped outside and took a quick pic. I know it's not a 172 but it will give you a general idea.
