Re: Removing b*****d Locking Nuts!!!!

Find a socket thats just slightly too small to go over the lock nut.
Smack it on with a hammer.
Tighten the other 3 normal nuts up a bit if you can.
Attempt to undo the locking nut with to socket you "attached"

I have used this method with lots of success.

You'll be fine.

The first time I did this I removed most of the nuts without touching the other 3. You'll be surprised how easy they come off once tightening the other 3 up.

Just start with a socket that knocks on easily and work your way down to a smaller one.

Get off the forum and go and try it. :rasp:
If the socket is a tad smaller than the wheel nut and you have to knock it on with a hammer than of course its gonna get a good grip. Its worked for me loads. Make sure you have a good, long power bar and that its at a nice right angle to the socket! ;)

Usually the slightly larger socket bashed on the lock nut will do. I usually give them 3 or 4 whacks with a massive punch which loosens them up, and 'shocks' them - full on swings, not toffee breaking hits. Then a thinner punch, about 5mm across, and tap them round to undo. Works everytime I've done a fair few that way.

Grease the wheel bolts threads helps
