best way of setting up a viper

hi guys have had the good fortun of wining a viper on ebay for 87 in very very good condition and it comes with all fittings and cleaning spray as well genuine pipercross anyway what is the best way of getting good results from this filter do you have the caf fitted or directed to the end etc cheers many thanks

remove the bumper and remove the valve thingy that connects to the standard air box, run the pipe down to where the original intake was.

to get best results with the viper get a silicone bend from the inlet manifold to the viper and then get some silicone pipes made up to feed air into the viper too.

Yeah i fitted a viper on saturday and put it straight to the butterfly valve and it really didnt like it(it died wen i went into second gear at about 4000 revs). So i just took out the butterfly valve diconnected the connector and now its sweet as a nut.

  VRS
do as the others said and remove the acoustic valve, run a cold air feed into the lower grill or fog, add a silicone elbow.

from my experience you need a remap to get the proper benefits of the viper as you will more than likely suffer from flat spots at lower revs if you dont have one

get someone who knows how , i'm not technically minded enough to diy but i paid 30 quid for fitting including spraying the trumpet

cheers kully thanks for the advise mate i might do that and get the air feed routed properly because i simply cant get the accoustic valve off the car the angle. my fat hands and s**t tolls dont help

i'd throw it in this,

you'd get better performance with a panel filter. The only think the viper is good at is noise, not performance.
