Just bought a 182. Best insurance?

Car  182 Full Fatt!
We have a 2002 Impreza STI and needed another car for the wife's commute to work.
Picked up a 48,000 mile Black 182 with both Cup Packs for £7300 today, mint.
Where have you guys found the best quotes to insure them?

It'd be under me with the missus as a named driver. 33 years old, full NCB, no claims or convictions. Missus is 23, all clean too!

avoid admiral lmao. greenlight, bell and norwich union have all given good quotes.

^^^^ Thats super Cheap!

28, 10 yrs NCB - £365 f/c with protected NCB on my 182 with Adrain Flux.

£250 with Admiral. 29 yrs old, full no claims etc

That is ridiculous!

Mine was £340 with them and I am 31 with a full protected no claims and only down for 8000 miles a year. Car is parked on the drive but even if I said it was garaged it only knocks off a tenner or something!

My post code is in the middle of the risk table.

My postcode is low risk. Renewal kicks in on Tuesday. Driveway, 8000miles per year. £250 excess, guaranteed ncb. My previous insurer (Tesco) quoted £360. I was shocked at the price too but I quickly snapped it up. Tesco have always been the best for me, until now.

Maybe they know you have ZX-10R??

I just put in a quote with Admiral to see what it came up with and it was £444 - it rocketed when I put in £0 voluntary excess and protected no claims. I'm staying with Sheila's Wheels!

£399 best so far, with Privilege.
That's what i paid with Privilege for my 182, i expected my premium to be lower than that being i am nearly 35, only do 6,000 miles per year and the car is garaged, but the area i live in backs onto a rougher area.

nice car for a 'commute to work' !!!

hope she's taking the back roads (and no... I don't mean what you're all thinking) :rasp:

Im with direct line, they have always been cheapest for me. However im on a totally different boat to you guys, only being 20 with 0NCB

Surely if it's for her commute to work it should be insured under her name, with you as a named driver? As that is the EASIEST situation to catch insurance fronting - most places of work have some form of CCTV, and also her colleagues will be asked how she gets to work.

Just something for your consideration...

Privilage were cheap for me this year. £500, but I'm 24, 4ync and 3 points. Rough postcode area too.

I'm with Priviledge too.

My renewal came through this year at around £370 but I checked with their online site as well, put in the same details and it came out at £319!!

Phone them up, asked for Internet price. Said ok, sorted:D

Yeah, I do know this one. But they should ask who uses it more, in which case I shall tell them. Just cuz it's under someone's name shouldn't have to mean they use it more! Plus, the moment she gets home from work I'm the main driver!
