I presume it is and my dealer is usually pretty good at replacing things but just thought I'd check here first :)

Some of the stitching on my passenger side front seat seems to have come away near the tilt/slide handle and the leather has split. Do we think this will be covered under warranty as it must be a manufacturing defect? :(

was covered on my brothers clio, dynamique, people say its only 12 months on interior trim, but im sure a quick call the trading standards will have it replaced if not ;)

It depends on your dealer and how helpful they want to be . The warranty doesn't cover " the replacement of parts damaged as a result of normal wear and tear " . Thats how they get out of that one if they want to . How do you define normal wear and tear though ?? Page 3 of the warranty booklet .

I doubt very much that trading standards would want to get involved due to the wording of the warranty .

It would be down to the disrection and the willingness of the dealership if they saw fit to replace it .

I had some work done to my driver seat under warranty but I dont think they did anything mutch other than tuck the material back in.

Leather does wear my driver seat is scratched off buttons and studs etc on my jeans/trousers.

If its not in a wearable position like where you sit then it sounds like a defect. If there's any problems with the dealership contact RUK. They have been helpful with me in the past.

My dealer are usually spot on and even replaced the full seat on my 1.2 as the stitching was fraying (sp). It's not in a normal wear and tare place and seems to be a defect, it's on the top corner just above the tilt/slide leaver on the passenger seat.

True, just need to find the time to drive over there now :rasp:
Saturday morning me thinks! :)

Ok, car was in today and they've taken pictures of the affected area so just got to await Renault's decision! :)

Well got the phone call today, the repair has been approved! :approve:

New seat back has been ordered, just to wait for it to arrive now!

First class service there Renault, can't fault it! :D

Nice result :) Seems like the dealership you use are pretty helpful . I bet they wouldn't be that helpful at alot of other dealrships .

Yeah I really can't fault them MrB! :) Even get a courtesy car for the day! :approve:

For anyone in the area it's definitely worth a trip over for decent customer service!

Well all sorted today! :)

New passenger seat upper fitted, car washed and vacc'd out and a free courtesy car all day! :approve:

Job done!

you mean they didnt fill up with fuel for you too??? now where is the customer satisfaction in that???

The plot thickens...lol!
Upon closer (daylight) inspection of the new seat it turns out it's different to the drivers one!

Basically the leather/suede/pattern etc are all exactly the same but the new 182 seat comes with differenet embroidery to the original ones!

Old seat = RenaultSport

New seat = RenaultSport

The RenaultSport logo/emblem on the new seat is blue, the old/existing drivers seat is grey! :S

Went back to my dealer today and they could find no reason for this as the parts system doesn't specify a colour! They are phoning Renault France direct tomorrow to look into this further! :)

I'll keep this updated...

Might end up with two new seats Daz ;) lol

I got a new steering wheel not so long and noticed the colour of this had slightly changed too tbh.

Yeah that's what I was thinking Maz ;) If they can't rectify the problem I'll need another new seat so they both match! :rasp:

Bet my dealers love me!

Well, what can I say - new drivers seat on order courtesy of Renault UK!

Result! :approve:

Yep, that will be both drivers and passengers replaced when it arrives Marie! :approve:

Never seen the Renaultsport in blue . I bet it looks quite good . Any pics Daz ?

Will get some once it stops raining mate :)
Does this mean I'll have a unique interior? :rasp: Matches the car and dash strips better I must say, lol!

You will always be unique Daz :p PMSL

Well got a very nice and apologetic phone call yesterday from a kind lady at Renault UK Customer services!
She was a customer service manager and was calling to apologise for the unacceptable workmanship on my original seat and the resulting issues regarding the new one!
Basically she wanted reassurance that this hadn't annoyed me to the point of wanting to sell up! lol!

Anyway, was nice to get a follow-up call, least they are fully aware of the issue now! :D
