there bloody is try doing a 182 one.
i had to shorted mine to fit the 182 manifold up to a 172 exhaust, cut it in half (i have 2) and attempted to smash the cat out couldnt touch it, air chisel wouldnt even touch it, ended it up putting it in the 10 tonne press to get it out

lol have a laugh its enough of a sod fitting a 2l from a alike car
my original plan was to put a zetec turbo in my clio but sense took over
wish i had now would have probably been bloody easier

naaaa id rather keep it renault matey.....

looking at 172 ph1 engine + box at the moment, with aftermarket ecu from the start and a few other goodies

tbh i think thats harder than what i've done as you'll have to try figure out all the other functions yourself such as all the clocks interior functions etc

engine management was never really a problem with mine (as it turns out) it was just wiring up the doors, lights, and rear of the car myself as i didnt have the looms/bits were missing

you'll be better finding a donor car with the whole lot Jord... plips, uch, ecu, loom and decoder ring and well as the lump and box.. although any box apart from the 172 Cup one will be ok iirc

Bit late to come into the thread but saw this car at RS Tuning about 2 months ago and gotta say I hate to admit it but I loved it.

Think you started on the wrong car(money wise) but it is great!

Helped massively by the colour!!!

Yeah.
It's a wee bit better now though and lower but you wunt think so. Ran 172bhp that day and it's running 189bhp now!

That is what £1400 does to an N/A car!!! Although can take a bit off that cos it needed it cambelt doing anyway.
