Rich_16v - Best setup IMO. When i first got the chronos i weren't too keen on them. I was at work and somelse went and got them fitted, came home and looked at it in the drive and though 'what have i done?' Didn't do a photoshop or anything before i got them...but now i love them!

Yeah China Blue is lighter...thought mine was China at first til i went into Pug to get something and they asked for the chassis number. Came up as Mauritius Seen China ones and they don't compare. They are just metallic whereas mine is pearlescent

GTis come in Moonstone?!?!?! i know many pugs come in Moonstone but never seen a Moonstone GTi

Rich_16v you missed Indigo Blue, Cobalt Blue and sure i've seen a couple of Nevis Blue ones

I know a mate of mine is looking to buy one of these motors, hes got about 3k or so at the moment if you know anyone selling a 106 gti.

It only came on later GTi's...2001 onwards. You'll find there is a few around

Nah they didn't mate, i've had mine next to a China Blue GTi and there is a difference

Darker ?


China is Pearlescent btw, as is Diablo.

Nah Mauritius and Diablo are the 2 pearlescents China is lighter and mauritus is darker but mauritius goes lighter in the sun (see pic i posted)

Have to agree to disagree on that one China is Pearlescant to - I should know I we painted a 306 in it ! Quick scan from one of the years worth of useless Pug stuff I have going back to the early 80's from Peugeot days.

Know what your saying mate and it would appear i'm wrong saying China isn't pearlesecent... Remember once though seeing a scan u of an old 106 brochure with all the colours in and there was just 2 pearlescents...the 2 i mentioned

Unless China was discontinued and replaced by Mauritus?

For the 106 it appears in the early brochures as China up to about 2000, and then in the later brochures as Mauritus (2001-03)

I had always asumed it was Peugeot doing there normal changing the name of the colour rather than the colour itself which they did a few times. I have never had the chance to compare the two like you have though.

Renault are just as bad, Arctic Blue became Ottoman Blue even thought he colour is the same.
