Standard HU aux?

I was playing with the standard HU over the weekend trying to get it set up better. I pressed and held on of the buttons on the right hand side and it came up with 'AF' on/off then 'AUX' on/off? whats this? I didn't think you could fit additional sources other than the standard CD player. I can't remember if there are any AUX inputs on the back of the HU

my mate has an aux input on the back of his standard hu its a mk2 ph2 so he has a wire running to the glovebox so he can play his ipod or mp3 player. because its just a aux lead you have to change tracks on the ipod and not on the stereo.

Is your HU updatelist or tunerlist?

I think it says 'updatelist', what is the difference betwween the 2. it's a full fat 182 55reg if that helps

If it says update list, theres a cable you can get for about £15 which lets you use the aux and plug in an ipod, etc.

Cant do that without a special converter box with tunerlist.

Do you know what the connection is to the ipod/ mp3 player? I'm guessing it's just a standard 3.5mm jack like headphones?

I have just ordered the parts to make up the cables form update list HU to mp3 3.5mm socket- I will post when I have tested it on my car and will be selling them for £10 inc postage if anybody interested. They sell for £14.99 plus £2 on ebay.

I might be?? How does it connect to the back of the HU, is it the green block connector that sits next to the yellow steering wheel remote?
I've just found one on ebay and it says it will fit onto the 'updatelist' but not with 'cabasse' units. Will yours work?

If it says updatelist it will fit fine. Yep the green connector is the one you need.

if i remember correctly, the update and tuner list head units are rebranded blaupunkt units so the blaupunkt cables should work with them

If it says "update list" front of the unit it will work. The Cabassa unit is one of these But not the "tuner list" this does not have a standard aux in.

I've contacted the seller and he's said it will be fine for my head unit.

Is your one that you're going to be selling like this one? And when do you think they will be ready?

It is virtually the same as that one- I have just ordered some more green connectors so they should be with me today or tomorrow, I have the cables ready to connect up. Most important part is to ensure that "update list" is on the head unit or else it will not work, you also need to enable AUX in the head unit menu- it tells you how to do this in the renault manual but I can help if you do not have this, (I can't remember off the top of my head, but can check my manual and let you know).

I have just read your first post and it means your head unit must be the right one- You just need to get to that AUX OFF bit and change it to ON. Then the AUX becomes active in the SOURCE list as you cycle through FM LW etc.
