This is my 2002 172.

Actually bought it out of the classified section on here about 6 weeks ago. It had done 76k (78k now) full service history, belts done, 100% standard and seems to have been looked after.

It just needed a good clean really, but it has taken me 6 weeks to get it to a stage that I'm fairly happy with. It's been Tcut several times, every wheel was curbed all the way around the edge which is something I have sorted, painted the calipers and added the engine cover (bargain from another member).

I've had afew goes at cleaning the engine bay, but its something that could still do with a bit more work on.

Not too sure about the red calipers, might end up just painting them black.

But in general I'm very happy with it!

Any comments welcome.

Car looks great.

Not sure about the engine cover - although I appreciate you did it like that to match the brakes, should have done that blue also or maybe black....

I know what you mean Jamie, but I bought the engine cover as it is. £20 delivered, so abit of a bargain really. So the brakes were done to match that. But like you say, both might look better black, or atleast a little more subtle.

Yeh I was thinking about some clear side repeaters.

My 172 has clear side repeaters? I thought that was standard? No?

Cheers, I think its in pretty good nick for a car thats done nearly 80k.

Maybe not, but I think it looks better than without a cover.

Fairly sure that Renault changed them after it had been in production for a few years, along with a few other things. May be wrong though.

Car looks good; red doesn't look bad, but I'm not sure if I'd keep it personally.

Yeh I'm thinking they would look better black.

Cheers for the comments though.

Spot on mate, change the brakes to Blue ;) will look a lot better believe me I did the same...

Yeh that does look good, liking the splitter!

Where abouts in leeds you from?

Not bad, I moved to cleckheaton not so long ago, drive past there quite a bit.

eek tcut! id avoid tcut, give Autogleam Super Resin Polish a go see how you get on with that will come up MUCH better!

looks good though, i think silver calipers would suit it, blue looks quite good too!

Whats up with a bit of T-cut? I used the blue one for metalics and finished it off with a bit of maguires. It has come up really well, paint was a bit dull with afew light scratches when I got it.

Thought about lowering it, but I think I want to keep it standard. That might change though.
