garage quoted 6-10 hours to replace rear bushings, I almost gave birth to a giraffe

Not sure if this should be in this subforum or the problems subforum...

I had brought my car in to replace the rear bushings today, but the garage told me I'll have to bring the car back next week, leaving it there for 2 days, as they were not able to get the bolts off today.

They said it might take as much as 8-10 hours to replace the rear bushings which will be quite a large bill! :dead:

Supposedly the bolts are not coming off easily due to rust :dapprove: It's a 9 year old car with 260000 km... so perhaps it is possible.

The shop which will be installing KW V2s tomorrow told me to not bother with the rear bushings due to the cost, but I'm not sure how much the worn rear bushings will affect the car's handling...

Anyone else come across this problem?

If you're having KW V2s fitted, they will come with new rear bushes anyway to allow fitment as the standard ones wont allow fitment, surely?

The bushes that I need replacing are the ones holding the rear suspension arms to the car body :dapprove:

I only brought my car to them as their original estimate was that it was a 2 hour job

I think I should just pick up the bushes that I've paid for and get them fitted elsewhere?
