1.6 rsi...

Lol @ this thread.
I thought double posting was bad, but 5 or 6 posts in a row. Epic.

After 6 pages of waiting... we finally see a picture of a standard rsi and the foot well.

LOL that'll be lacquer then. It'll still scuff, I'm a painter I know it will. Looks like you're going to take this car down the same route your old one was going....
 
well i started the colour coding and its going ok
decided today tht i wanna spray my alloys black
seems sensible dunno why i shouldnt

My RSI started life looking the same as yours, and apart from a few subtle mods its not too different atm. As a fellow owner of an RSI please take some advise from me and dont destroy or 'shed' this one! listen to peoples advice on here, there usually right
 
need to know will a car wash take the paint off the side strips after they are painted and laquered ?
 
well spraying the wheels black now and aint using them machine car washes seen as tho you all think so highly of them
side strips are painted and ready to go back on
just gotta colour lettering in some how
then callipers and drums need painting
as do door mirrors and bumper mouldings
 
When did you start doing the side strips? There is no way in hell you have done them in one day.
 
started them last night only really gotta laquer them then cure them and put them back on :D
 
Oh right. I'll wait to see pics before passing judgement. Touch up pen for the lettering btw.

for the letters i have just used some touch up paint and a craft brush with a fine head :D thnx for the advice

The sidestrips and wheels look good IMO, but the orange looks pish. Oh and PMSL at the glue left behind by the chav shopping list someone's had on the door! No wonder it was f*cked when you bought it if someone like that owned it before you.
 
not a bad effort at all!

get some glue/tar remover for the shopping list, should come off alright.

I quite like the orange bages personally

all you need to do now is colour code the front and rear bumper mouldings (as said), the door handles, get some tyre dressing, and get some ph2 rear lights, and it will look pretty good :)

EDIT oh and lower it and colour code the spolier

The Orange badges look s**t.
The side strips dont look the same shade of silver.
Theres a shopping list down the side of the car.

Other than that, good effort!

that was abit next level hardcore lol
 
wheels were touched up before you mentioned that they arent kerb marks ya douch they are where maskin was covering the old paint
shopping lists have been gone since 5pm so s**t effort noticing that before me
and your opinion doesnt count coz you never say owt decent so :p
 
Don't mean to sound rude but those side strips look a way diferent shade of silver to the rest of the car. Also not keen on those red badges.

P.S. tyre dressing needed :D
 
How close is the color match for the side strips ? In that photo, it looks more white than silver!

But have a star for effort! :star:
 
its supposed to be the same i bought the paint tht had the same code as my car has so i dunno why it seems any different to the rest of my car :s

to me it looks pretty much the same :S lol

the colour match on my car is aweful so I wouldnt worry :approve:

is there a scratch on your newly painted side strip?

also get some t-cut/tar remover on the glue leftover from the shopping list
