Big thanks to LouisQ for getting me on here! Very helpful :D

Car came in at 1020kg on the dot with just under half a tank of fuel, so probably just over 20 litres.

Anyone know a rough figure without that 20l of fuel?

I thought this was a good figure for a ph2 that has the doors cards, speakers, headunit and basicly everything still up front!

20litres of fuel is about 14kgs

Awesome, so say 10kg to be safe then, 1010kg ph2 172, im well happy with that :) Shame I add 80kg to it lol :(

Edit: wtf 80Kg, weighed myself this morning and I was 11 stone, but 80kg is like 12.6stone!

Wow that is light. Thats a fatty bombatty Ph2 as well? Partially stripped i take?

My Cup can't be far off the 1000kgs mark then.

Rear end is totally stripped and I have slightly ligher seats than standards, plus lighter wheels, about it really.

Mine is still with rear seltbelt reels but its got slightly lighter seats and obviously no air so i'd hope that would get it a few kg's under what yours weighs.

Need to find me a weighbridge!

You can lose another 25kg if you let me drive it instead tbh.

Just curious, i wonder how much weight you could save if you made the car airtight, sucked all the air out so it was a vacuum and kept a bubble of air round your head with a feed through the roof to keep you alive.

gotta be a few kilograms right there

No worries Dan. Its always exciting getting cars on the weighbridge. Especially when the results are pleasing:) I decided i do love my car very much on the way home:)

One of our suppliers at work has a weighbridge, just round the corner from us as well, may have to order something small and go and collect it tomorrow...

On another note, I'm a proper skinny fecker and weigh 85kg, you lot must be made of skin and bone!

still lardy compared to the last time I had my semi stripped Williams on the scales...

Keep finding myself on pistonheads looking again ;)

That surprises me that a ph1 is the lightest out of the factory

Thought the ph1 's where 1089kg's ? Surely cant be 1035 anyway because the seats weigh 30kg's and theres plenty of stripped out ph1's and not many reported to be running under a tonne?

Not convinced about those figures :S

what are the simplest things to do to the 182 to save weight? remove spare tyre?
I thought 182s didn't have a spare tyre due to the dual exit exhaust?

My ph1 weighed in at 1060kg with 30L of fuel, and assorted junk in the car, spare wheel, jack, etc

The hood is aluminium, checked using a fridge magnet.

Shouldn't be easy to get under a ton: spare wheel, toolkit, rear seats should be sufficient, if the front seats were changed, interior taken out, aircon removed, would be quite a bit under 1 ton

My 51 plate ph2 172 didn't come with cruise control or half of the gadgets that I assume they are meant to, I wonder what that weighed.

Same as mine then! The extra gadgets started 52 onwards, no difference on weight really though, still go by the Ph2 172 figure.

  Ph1 172.
I never realised how much lighter the ph1's were over ph2s. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference.
