Big Battery problems, clio 182

hey everyone im new to the site, my girlfriend drives a clio 182 phase 2 and we are havin big problems in the battery department.
she was having problems starting the car so i fully charged her battery, then a few weeks later its died again so i replaced it for the exact battery that was in the car (a halfords 063, 400/75) and it fired up once then on all other attempts im just getting a loud clicking which im guessing is the starting motor??
the main reason for my post is a clue to weather the battery im using is too weak and is draining? and does anybody know the correct battery i need?

Battery should be man enough. Get the battery tested and the altenator IMO. Battery could be faulty however it could be you have an altenator issue and if it's not charging it'll kill the battery fairly quickly.

I have a y reg 172 and only bought it for use on track and occassional use. Before the winter I had issues with it not starting. Charged battery and it would be ok for a few days then wouldnt start.
Bought a new battery and it started once then cut out. The old battery when charged up works but the new one doesn't. I tested it and it is 100% and can be used to jump start the car. My mechanic pal seems to think the alternator is ok too.

No. The clicking you hear is the starter solenoid.

Alternator won't be supplying enough charge, most likely. That's why you keep running batts down.
