1.2 16v Mk2 Ph1

So I've done a few things to my car and none of you have seen it yet, so here is my project thread.

When I got it, it was completely standard, but I didn't take any pictures of it :O

So first off, I got a really cheap and nasty gear knob... it fell off... so I bought myself a leather gear gator and SPARCO gear knob, as well as a load of black spray paint, primer and lacquer:

I painted the side strips body colour and sprayed the bullets:

Painted the fog surrounds and wing mirrors in silver:

Got smoked side repeaters as well:

Got some lexus lights (yeah booo I don't like them either) and windows tinted (yeah boo I'm a chav )

Got a tow eye from Si

Some cheapy xenons in there ^


So there's my chavwagon, haters gonna hate...

Next up lowering and some turinis!

Phase 2 lights, cc'd spoiler, lower, keep standards but spray them a random colour.., black and go for stealth look?

You mean the alloys? I don't think they would look good in any other colour? Have you painted your alloys? any pics?

I've got a set of yellow valvers on mine the now, getting refurbed once frost buggers off

Most likely to gloss black/anthracite

So I broke down, turns out my thermostat housing had cracked :/

So I ordered the new part along with some other goodies:

Socket set, Thermostat housing, silvervisions and a antifreeze tester.

I would edit but I can't :/ so heres another small update:

More stuff in the post: Spring compressors, spark plugs, stickers, oil filter, spark plug removal tool (the wrong size), 501 silvervisions and a bee-sting aerial.

I also did an oil change, very messy job!

Silvervisions:

Look much better on the ph1 than on the ph2 IMO!

Definitely looking to go lower, but funds are a bit short atm

I want a ph2 rear bumper or an rs rear bumper

and a ph1 rs front bumper

Get rid of that sticker and get it lower.

FYI: These tend to look really nice on Mk2 Ph2 sport alloys (16") and they tend to go very cheap as they're not that popular

Oh, and the front RS bumper requires wings and side skirts, so not really worth it mate, just colour code yours.

The sparco one?
You have to melt the original one off, then you bolt this little piece of metal to the of the gear stick, which the sparco one screws onto.
I'll get you a pic if you like.

Yes but I'm a teenager and its SOOO DIFFICULT to not spend money :/

I need a cambelt change and I'm wondering should I get it done? or should I sell it and let the next 17 year old worry about it when he can't start his car at mccy ds...


Theres another problem, t will be soo painful to let my baby go especially to a 17 year old kid.

Well....

Its glued onto a piece of plastic which is PROPERLY stuck on, so I took a fan heater to it for 10 mins then used an adjustable spanner to twist it off, alternatively you can saw it off but that makes a mess :/

Oh FYI once its off you need a new one if you want it standard again.

I'll give you one word of advice, buy a expensive gear knob to replace it, I had a cheapo one from halfords at first and it kept falling off, it was also 100% metal so in the summer it was too hot to touch and in the winter it was too cold to touch lol.

The sparco one is perfect!

i know how you feel... im moving to the USA in july and still cant stop spending money on the car lol
