Ive always had consoles, i just wanna slap the disk in, play, and slouch on my sofa. Not turn on a rig, wait for windows to fully load and sit at a desk and play. I hardly no anyone that plays games on pc now tbf so id be on my own lol. Pc graphics are much better, but i still think the crysis 2 graphics are great on the xbox and some of the ps3 games like kz3, uncharted 2 look amazing!

That's a good point. I thought Macs rinsed just about everything else at everything...don't they?

It's risky ground implying anything negative with regards to Macs, tbh. Could resuly in a perma ban. We actually have an Apple forum!! LOL!

Macs are great for games. I imagine Peggle runs like a dream on a MBP.

LOL, I know, I know. At least it gives them all somewhere to hangout while comparing their respective awesomeness and laughing pitifully at normal non-Mac owning imbeciles.

Ah Kris when i have put my fingers to the bios it will be as quick/quicker than an i7 ;)

Just orderd a 1TB Caviar black aswell. Will order a 6950 tomorrow and flash that to a 6970 when i can :)

Trust me, Macs don't do high-end gaming.

I have pretty much the most powerful iMac available and it'd still sh*t itself way before even a £800 gaming rig would, despite costing three times that.

That said, they're not useless. I can run GTAIV at maximum and still get 50+FPS. They run HOT though.

I've just ordered myself some new peripherals. Bought another Intellimouse 3.0 for £18 from play, also looking at ordering a pair of Steelseries Siberia V2's because I currently have the V1's and fancy an upgrade. Anyone want to buy my V1's for £30? :cool:

Consoles are always being pushed further, how much further depends on whether the developers see any benefit to spending lots of time rewriting their code.

The problem is there is only so much you can do with the limited memory the consoles have. Both have a combine total of 512mb split between the GPU and System. For the PS3 its a 256/256 split. For the Xbox it is a bit different and can be altered .

Big textures and higher resolutions fill that amount of memory very quickly. Already see it on the PC's where the GPU's with 1GB are running into issues on higher resolutions and becoming memory limited. Why you are starting to see 4GB GPU's for sale now. Crazy amount of memory but it is getting to a point where it is needed. Also got your average higher end Gaming PC now with a minimum of 4GB of ram and with some people running as much as 16gb.

It's simple numbers, hardware has come a long way since the PS3 and Xbox were first released. When they first appeared they were better than many high end gaming systems. PC hardware moves on a lot in 6 years. In gaming terms they tend to double in performance every 12 -24months.

As I alluded to earlier in the trhead, all PC gaming is, is willy waving. There you go getting all obssessed with pointless numbers.

I always find the mouse to be annoying to use after a controller. It takes three 'lift' up and drags to turn round. Clumsy, tbh.

The keyboard and mouse were not designed as games controllers. Hence why they're limited. But, if that's all you're really used to, it's difficult to adust to anything else.

I imagine its not a coincidence that in ANY game that has allowed cross platform play, console gamers get beaten by keyboard + mouse PC gamers. However id say due to the consoles popularity its now killing PC gaming by making it too mainstream and too Hollywood. Companies like EA just feed upon the whole "big budget" titles and most of the variety has now gone as its "not good business sense" etc

You just sound like you might have several issues with your hands tbh. You're not grasping the fact that FPS games especially, the aiming and all aspects of movement are toned down on console

You're basically saying you get more freedom of movement with two stubs the size of your cats ****, than you would with an array of keys and a mouse which allows for full freedom of movement and sensitivity?

Thread is pointless, the 2 sides ain't ever going to agree, both have strengths and weaknesses, its down to personal.opinion.and that will always differ.

I have a gaming mouse for my laptop but am s**t at aiming on bbc2 yet I can snipe a headset from across the map on my xbox.

I absolutely agree guys, the problem is me and I am inept at using a mouse, never used to be but since using a console I can't aim for s**t with k and m! Bit that's why I mainly game on consoles!

Darren Bbc2 is short for battlefield bad company 2 but I know you knew that ;)
