Quick picture of engine bay - finishing touch

I wasn't to keen on the short oil breather pipe with filter on the end. It was hanging just over the exhaust manifold dripping oil.

So wanting to avoid any nasty 'Thermal incidences' I purchase a Mocal catch tank from Merlin Motorsport and a length of Black silicone hose and went about fitting.

End result:

Very nice! clean too. what paint have you used on the cam cover and the mount?

It's Halfords High temp 'Metallic Black' with a coat of High Temp Lacquer over the top.

Although as you can see its more Anthracite than Black :)

Thats what i was thinking anthracite looks good though, it must be the laquer. I may have to change the colour of mine now.

It's quite Matt before the lacquer, you can't see in the photos but it's quite a heavy metallic flake.

Why arent your top mounts in matching position?

Looks tidy!

The company who fitted them for me set them like that. Don't think they understood how they worked so the camber / toe were adjusted and set without taking the adjustability of the mounts in to account.

I've not adjusted them yet as waiting until this set of tyres are done, once new tyres are on I'll change the settings and have the car re-set up.

Fair enough :) ive got both of mine set like the passenger side for max carstor, i think thats right.

I was running a fair bit of camber but after killing off 4 tyres very quickly it became costly, even though the cars handling was amazing.

Yes, need to sort that.

Been weeping a bit of coolant from down near the front right of the Rad as you look at the car.

Need to get the bumper off for a look!

We ordered one of the mocal oil seperators last week too, seem to be the best fit for a clio engine bay and the quality of them is great.

We were getting a few drips of oil out the breather (its a 140K mile engine and revs to 7500rpm so really cant complain, lol) at llandow and got told off for it, so ordered one the next day.

They do fit nicely, although I made a bit of a mess of drilling it to mount up, thankfully it's nicely hidden by the bolts.

Quick question about the catch can....Where are you running the hose out of the catch can to? I understand the hose exiting the breather on the engine and then into the catch can, but where does the hose that tapers down towards the bottom of the bay run to???? Any pics would be most helpful!

PS: Looking nice and clean!

Hi mate, the hose runs down and back towards the front of the car, I have just popped a cable tie round one of the lower coolant hoses to secure it.
