Chris's Black Gold 182 FF

Welcome to the project log for my Clio 182 Black Gold. It's got both the cup packs etc. I've got to be completely truthful even though its not red, I prefer it over my trophy.

A few details about the car:

75k Miles
Belts done at K-tec at 63k Miles
Brembo Discs
Well Serviced
Custom Restrictive Stainless exhaust.
Stainless Steel Foot Rest

A few niggles I found with the car when I bought it:

Lack of cup splitter
Scrape on the passenger side bumper
Paint Swirled to death

A few pics when I picked it up:

So as I've been breaking a few of my cars I had some parts that were eager to find their way onto the BG.

40mm Apex Springs
Small Aerial
RS mats
Megane ph2 Splitter
Brand New whiteline RARB

That left me with this:

Obviously the scrape on the bumper was annoying me, so I've since had that resprayed and blended it into the wing.

My trophy spoiler arrived from France so that got painted BG at the same time :)

I also upgraded all of the lights in the car with white L.E.D's, I changed the interior light, map light, boot light, glovebox light, sidelights and numberplate light. Small touches but make a nice difference.

Also got my hands on a yozza, which unleashed somemore ponies and made a dramatic difference on top end power.

I've also fitted an ITG Maxogen, which there will be pics of soon when I'm happy with the engine bay

On the engine side of things I replaced the standard gearbox mount with this

If you're now wondering where the trophy bit comes into it here it is

These masterpieces are waiting to go down to BG motorsport for a check over and rebuild if they need them, although they've only done 25k miles so shouldnt need doing

The next thing to do is clean it, machine polish it and fit my new style Renault sport badge.

I'm hoping to get the wheels refurbished before FCS, aswell as my custom Eibach Springs fitted :)

Oh and picked this up from Chris Powell at the weekend, along with some carbon interior goodies

Thanks for looking and keep checking as its sure to turn out into quite a nice car.

FAO anyone with genuine trophy turini's and recaros, give me a pm when you want to sell up so I Can complete the BG trophy

Fairplay BG wears the trophy spoiler really well, I like the idea of making your own BG trophy :) subbed.

Nice upgrades.

Let us know how you get on with the exhaust. I was tempted, looks very nice :)

nice car indeed! And I like your BG trophy take on things!

Shame the yozza exhaust doesnt fit centre of both holes (left one seems to be off a little), otherwise, good work!

Get the dampers treated and painted, have a look at my project thread. Silver hammerite is a perfect match for them.

I think bg can do it for you but not sure what the finish will be like, I saw your project thread mate, where did you get the rust treatment from?

Re: Chris's Black Gold Trophy to be

Small update, picked up a few carbon bits up from Chris Powell a few weeks back

After removing half the dash I finally got the clocks out and proceeded to take them apart

I gave the dials and plastic cover a clean then put them back together

All fitted and back together

cheers for the comments, trophy spoiler is direct from the factory through dieppe, thankfully Tom@Wests Renault did the honours of sourcing one for me :)

Yeh, you need some better image hosting chris. Use FlickR.

Re: Chris's Black Gold Trophy to be

It's really strange, I paid to go pro on photobucket and now I've logged on to see all of the above, I may just get one of the mods to delete this thread and I'll start a new thread, looks a bit pants now.

Again thanks for all the positive comments, I'm in love with the car it really is everything I've wanted from a clio

Did you alter the title on you photo bucket clip folder. I renamed mine on photo bucket and it deleted all my pics I uploaded yet they was still on photo bucket but with the the new title. Flickr ftw.

Re: Chris's Black Gold Trophy to be

I don't think you can mate :(

I had the same pproblem on my project thread and like you now have many blank boxes of uploaded pics. If you adjust the title again then it will delete you current uploads.

Either stay as you are and just upload the new photos on the new titled folder and don't change it or perhaps start a new thread and get a mod to delete this one?

Photobucket is good for quick uploads but Flickr is much better. You can alter the title and move pics in Flickr and they don't get deleted once uploaded.

Regardless, car is looking good, Chris :) what's next to be added to the bg trophy?

Re: Chris's Black Gold Trophy to be

Not at the minute mate, just spent a fortune on it this weekend.

Ordered coilovers, got the yozza and bought some 2118's which have turned out to be buckled so I'm fuming

Re: Chris's Black Gold Trophy to be

Yeah mate they were, from nick-barnes07. Still haven't came to an agreement on a refund either after I wasted £400 on balancing, fuel and the purchase price of the wheels

Re: Chris's Black Gold Trophy to be

Gutter about the wheels mate :( hopefully you'll come to ssome sort of agreement.

How comes you chose to go 2118s over turinis?

Also what coilovers did you get?
