Shell V-Power Nitro+

Yeah, and where will they offer it - just hand a gander on google and many are suggesting it won't be offered at most/all Shell garages like normal V-Power - might just be speculation though.

If it does what it says it does, then there may be a benefit from just running it occasionally, rather than permanently which is no doubt going to be cripplingly expensive.

Is this going to be similar to the BP (iirc) where they had high octane fuel near tracks?

  Nissan 350z
Is it just rebranded Vpower or is actually higher octane though? Cant see them installing additional pumps to offer 3 types of Unleaded.

Just been reading about this as got an email about it.

Doubt my nearest one will get it and thats 36 mile away.

  clio sold :(
I have a shell just 2 mins away and another 5 mins away so hopefully one will get it.
Then we can have huge angey threads about which one gives a better idle

We have a shed load of shells in my area. I might give some of this a bash. Anyone know it's going to be available?

Right, so where have people got that its 102 Ron from?

i don't believe it is, I believe this is a name change to fall in line with other markets and to add the 25% extra friction stuff in to make the engine run better.

so I think it's replacing vpower as we know it today.

I think people are getting 102 Ron from the vpower nitro + racing fuel that's available in some markets, think its thailand or the philipinesor something, which is a level above the nitro + being talked about by shell.

so don't get excited, as far as I can see, we are just getting some new additives into vpower and getting a stupidly long name (why does it need to be nitro +, which not just nitro or just +.....) and it will replace all vpower which is currently 99 ran anyway.

lets not even go into cars not being mapped to even run on 102 Ron fuel.....

I'd say its more likley that a Turbo charged car would benefit from higher octane fuels, not NA.

For sure, but I'm fairly sure that not everyone who buys high octane fuel drives an NA Clio? This thread is in General Chat after all.

It's a sweeping statement to suggest that it's a load of b****cks. I can't even run my car on 95, because it's mapped for 97+ and definitely does suffer if I ever use the regular stuff. I wouldn't call misfires placebo. Granted though, the majority of cars don't need anything more than regular 95.

I run my car on 102RON. Definite benefits.
So your turbo'd highly tuned car runs better on higher octane.

well I never. Which petrol is 102 in Germany, can't say ive seen any personally?

A Clio 200 would just laugh at nitro+ (if it was 102 Ron, but it isn't)

my car is designed to run on 98, so I wouldn't bother with 102 Ron if it came out personally, for the same reason I don't use 95 Ron, my engine wasn't designed to use it.

I saw a 102ron on sale at Silverstone paddock filling station a few years ago, cant see it going on sale to general public. I was tempted to get a tank while on track, would of given the r26 a bit more power, but at the price i left well alone! Sure it was over £2 back then!

+1, I haven't seen any mention on the Shell website of 102 RON, just more additives to help keep friction lower and clean the engine.

Sorry dk. Did I offended you in some way by posting my experience of high octane fuel, in a high octane fuel thread?

Well I never.

That was bp ultimate 102 which then made available close to racing circuits, I never saw it personally, not sure if it even still exists.

I was actually agreeing with you, but adding sarcasm into the reply, for the simple people ;)

To clarify other than the post above mine I had no substantiated evidence for the Ron rating lol!

I just jumped on the bandwagon. 150 Ron irrc

I filled up with this yesterday. Like DK has said, they've just rebranded the vpower pumps and added some cleaning additive. There was some flyers on the counter but I forgot to grab one.

Same price as before too. 1.41 by me
