Hello the car is a 172 (02) i have the electronic fault light on (piece of bread symbol) rs tuner chucked up the following code(s) DF0008 DF0196 it says throttle pedal position track 1? anyone got any ideas? car has been stood for 6 months with no fault codes or running issues. ​thanks

Does it sound like a top end knock? Between 2&3? That's what mine sounds like from your video :o not sure what it can be though! ​Jack

How long do people reckon to leave the car running for? I am certain it isn't dephaser as when it gets to temperature it doesn't make the diesel noise at all

Yeah the dephaser is deffo done, and yeah I have had it running for 20 minutes so surely oil should be around engine now? :O

Hello the car has developed a strange tap/knock/rattle when on/offing the the throttle, I looked on youtube and the closest thing to what mine sounds like is this video http://youtu.be/3nrhsjsM2_0 It's not the dephaser as that has very recently been changed it sounds like a heat shield...

Just an update problem is corrected, it was the small square plug that goes into the uch, I had not clipped it in properly! ...... DOH! thanks anyway mick jack
