Yes.. Check the rear shocks. This is what is wrong with my 172.. rears are gone on mine, and this is how the car behaves (assuming tyre pressures are all ok)

Ok cool. thanks heaps. So yes, I have the question now to just get the standard set from renault or go uprated. Guess if going uprated, i'll be lowering it with eibiach springs. Are the rear springs difficult todo at the same time?

Is there a guide on replacing the rear shocks on a Mk1 172? Would seem like a simple job for ones self todo rather than paying a mechanic.. Thanks.

I have a Mk1 172, thats just shy of 100,000kms. Its about to be sold, so i will be "renault-less" :-(

Mines currently got 94,000kms on it.. Still going strong

Someone Ive contacted out here in Aus uses a Thule Freeway 968 on their 172. Says works fine. Price isnt too bad also. Hopefully check it out tomorrow

Go for the 182 in Inferno. looks sweet as :-) Getting my Megane 225 in Jan in that colour. Lovely
