Clio 182 RB Cup

One on the left is a car

The one on the right is a homosexuals implement

Little car did good last night at Donington for my first track day in it. I was concerned on the drive down as it didn't feel right at all the way it was rotating - when i checked the type pressures the fronts were 38 and one of the rears was 8. So sorted that and had some steady laps. Feels a lot more lively and frantic than the meg and the 197 but did had a couple of understeer moments, specifically at craners but i think it was due to cold tyres.

I did really enjoy the session and felt a lot more confident towards the end once I'd figured out the handling.

I enjoyed our little stint, I'm glad you lifted before craners. I went through there a few times without lifting at all through that entire section, and coming into that right hander made me f**king poo myself

I did it twice, after the second time I just kept it sensible and lifted a bit before to scrub off some speed 😂

Yeah was great - i had my daughter in the car or i would have kept up with you 😊

First few laps of craners i slighty touched the kerb on the left and it just seemed to tramline me off to the right with no grip!

Its such a great section that, must be one of the best of all UK tracks.

I did wonder why you weren't pushing it hard, after watching you drive the Megane I did think you were going slower than usual 😂

Craners are nuts. When I did Donnington a few years back I remember looking down half way through them at the Speedo and going “f**k me it says 110” and then massive lift off oversteer at the bottom as I wasn’t concentrating into to the last corner as I did not believe at all I was doing 110, to the point where I was planning how I was getting home that day while sliding towards the barrier. Brown pants moment. But yes, I know I was nowhere near 110.
Looking at everyone’s threads makes me miss out but I had already booked the Nurburgring this weekend. Glad everyone had a good time!

When I had tuition at Donington I was told not to lift off through Craners, the one time I did the car was very unsettled & the instructor just said I told you🤷‍♂️

Thinking of refurbing the 2118s, what we thinking colour wise?

silver? bronze? leave as is?

I'd go white but i've already got some white evo corse with PS3s that i might fit for a bit of road driving.

For track use I'd keep them as they are (or have two sets of wheels, one for road use)

If you're driving it on the road regularly, go for a different colour so you don't look like a try hard knobhead.

Silver or white for me. Anthracite if you cant be arsed cleaning them, as silver and white will be pitted after one press of the brakes.

We passed, rear calipers were partially seized, but 2 issues, one is the spoiler light not working and 2 is when i lock the car i get a high continuous beeeeeeep. Maybe putting that one down to it being a bit hot and bothered.

Can you get an LED light replacement for the cup spoiler?

Continuous beep when locked is due to the alarm thinking a door or something is open. Faulty bonnet switch is common, or if door open light is on all the time its a fault on door or boot switch.

You can get an LED replacement from a place called Barthel auto solutions, I have one fitted to mine, however if the light isn't fitted it can't be tested so a strip of black electrical tape over it will be a pass too.

It didn’t fail as it’s not required to pass

Clio went reasonably well at cadwell despite a couple of niggles.

I had some major scrubbing and strange noises from the front left at the hairpin, barn and the mountain, followed by some slight vibration/humming. I'll need to get the wheel off and see whats catching but i couldn't see any marks on the tyres. was half expecting my driveshaft to leave the chat but no such drama.

Kept losing pressure in the right rear and discovered that theres a screw in the tyre. Not sure whether to get this repaired or just send it? I really need to get some tuition booked next time

If you're serious about tuition, give me a shout when you're ready. I'm a qualified ARDS instructor and I know these Cios pretty well! Sure we could sort something out.

Car looked great at Kenwick park when I was collecting my lodge keys, and when I followed you for a lap.

I had similar scrubbing/buzzing noises, my front tyres have been eating the arch liners near the front bumper/wing fastening and the inside of the liner on the rear of the car so that might be your first port of call.

My Mrs actually enjoyed it and wants to come again next year!

Ohhhh I didn't realise you had female company! Probably for the best you didn't come near me this time for that reason 😂😂 although luckily no foreskin convo this year

Next year foreskin chat ?

Don’t have front arch liners but I suspect it’s something like that in the front arch.

The females actually really enjoyed it, although I did get asked to pull off due to some imminent puking 😂
