Brilliant. I thought they would at least be marginally better than OE.
They do have better initial bite than what I had before (worn out OE, so not surprising). But braking from high speed they just seem to give up. I can't even make them lock up if I try.
Is this fade or what? I'm wondering...
Yep, would be hard work on your own.
Not sure if you need to make new holes with a drill? - The splitter comes with self-tapping screws.
I used masking tape to help hold it in position.
Apoligies for the thread resurrection!
But I've had some Greenstuff pads fitted recently and am experiencing very similar to what Mark has described:
Any ideas what the problem is?
I like it. Its not one of my favourite cars but its far from ugly IMHO.
Incidently up until today I'd only seen a couple on the road - today I saw four in the space of an hour! I was beginning to wonder if they were'nt selling.
Does a car have to be a fresh idea/original concept to become a classic?
If so, in the case of hot hatches, the only classic can be the Mk1 Golf GTI. The rest are just evolutions of that concept.
Not sure if the Trophy is a future classic or not. I guess it has laid down a real benchmark...
Mine feels a little hesitant in the mornings sometimes too, first noticed it over past couple of months. FWIW I've seen others comment that this seems to be affected by weather/atmospheric conditions - might be why its only just started doing it on your car
Not what I want to hear! I went out and thrashed the car over 120 miles on Sunday....
Its booked in at Rentec soon, cambelt change while they're at it. Fortunately its a little cheaper as its a Cup - the joys of no air con! :D
(Also known as the accessory belt, I believe)
When did everyone have it changed on their RS Clio?
I have been informed by two reliable (I think!) sources that this should be done on the 36k service. But is sometimes not because Renault get confused with non-RS Clio's that do not require the...
Its only a Cat D (or Cat whatever) if its been written off AFAIK.
If its not a write off, all you've done is repaired it. Guess its only worth less if the repairs are visible and/or you tell a prospective buyer about them!
Hmmm...I need a coffee table...
Not sure I could pull off having a piece of Clio sat in my lounge though. My mates might think I've taken the Clio obsession a bit too far :S
Love to have one made using a F1 wheel of Ferrari V10
Good effort though!
^^ Agree with that - it'll sell for the right price.
RE seeing many RS Clios hanging about on Pistonheads - PH does'nt always update if a car is sold, so may distort your view on this
