I said it was not worth doing as you can buy a Teg that has one already! Without going to the trouble/expense etc. Not to mention the Teg is arguably a better car anyway!!!
Looks like Charlie has put his prices up since I was there. Swear I paid circa £300 for my cat back stealth about two years ago. Are you going for the visible pipe? (therefore requiring bumper cut etc) That has always bumped up the price a bit.
FWIW My stealth is perfect for me. Reasonably...
LSD aids traction under power more than braking I thought (correct me if I'm talking s**t!)
If you want an LSD I'd by the teg rather than fitting one to a Cup. Waste of time and money IMHO. Virtually unheard of to have them fitted to a Clio.
Personally I thought the engines were generally the most reliable part on 172/182s' :S
Trouble with reading the forum is people tend to post more often when they have a problem than when they don't, as I'm sure you realise!
I've had zero running problems with my 172 Cup in the two years...
I've experienced this, usually after cruising on the motorway for a while without touching the brakes. I assume it is because they just get completely soaked and this reduces friction when you first apply the brakes.
Its actually worse with the Ferrodo DS2500s' I have now as they like some...
If you want PE2s' one possible benefit of 205 over 195 is availability. Took me the best part of a month to track down two 195/45/16 PE2s' a little while ago - they were like rocking horse s**t! No where had any or could get them delivered from Michelin for some reason. I did briefly consider...
Followed me from when I joined M4 east bound then right into Reading. Who was it?
I saw you coming on the slip road - I would have left you room! no need to bottle it ;)
I'm sure I can feel resistance moving off from standstill and coasting at very low speed with clutch down. Squealing does'nt go away and continues up to high speed. Somethings not right. I'm taking it back to where they were fitted.
Nasty. The chap in the red does well to jump over the bonnet and then get launched up the screen. Probably took some of the force out of it. Hope I have the presence of mind to do that if in that situation!!
Recently had new brakes fitted all round, with fronts upgraded to Brembo HC, DS2500, braided lines, dot 4 fluid. Driven 600 miles on them including a bedding in session.
Stopping power once warm is immense so no problems there! Squeal at low speeds as to be expected.
However when I brake to...
Or maybe you brake too much?
I've run Greenstuff on standard discs, hoses, fluid etc for the past 12k. Driven the car very hard on the road many times and only suffered significant fade once. Admitably the stopping power is not massive to start off with! but I found them adequate for fast road...
I think thats what it is (I probably only read it on here however!). Mine makes a tappety noise on tickover once its hot. Done it since I've got it. Has'nt gone pop yet after circa 30k miles.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question: Why do you need 4No Braided hoses? I thought only two were reqd, one for each front brake.
I'm upgrading my brakes in the near future too. Same requirements as you. Basically decided to get the same setup too. I assume you're getting the Brembo HC...
Generally OK. I've only had one 'moment' where I turned in (off the power) and understeered. This was on a very cold day with damp/greasy road, and fortunately at low speed. Obviously power-on understeer is still present (easily if you drive like a tool!) but when it does happen it is...
I would'nt scimp on tyres. Especially on a Cup, you need all the help you can get ;) Complete false economy when you stuff it.
I've ran PE2s' for the last 14k or so, having replaced the Contis' which were on the car when I got it. The PE2s' are much better in the wet IMO. When the Contis' were...
Thats where I go from Reading.
No good if you want to keep the full Renault dealer history though. Thats of dubious value IMO however! Bridges certainly are'nt brilliant in my experience (had two MOTs done there)
