Finally got around to tidying up my Dad's MR2 Roadster which has been sat on the drive for the last 2 years after he fell ill.
-Fresh engine oil & filter
-New Discs & Pads all around
-All Calipers cleaned and repainted silver.
-Replacement set of OEM wheels, the current ones were corroded...
Tried a decent scanner before with a dedicated abs setting and nothing! But I'll have a look at the sensors anyway.
Or Maybe it'll reset itself after a drive with the adjusted brake sensor. Will see on the way to work tomorrow
I've readjusted it and to be fair they work properly now. All lights are still on though annoyingly
Okay, read in a few places that brake light switch throws all 3 up. but as above, the brake light is sorted and all dashlights are still on. So maybe it could be an abs sensor. I'll get a...
Dash lit up with these lights a few days ago. Also realised my brake lights aren't turning on until a fair amount of pressure is applied.
Installed a new brake light switch which has done a grand total of f**k all. I've read that these lights can be caused by the steering angle sensor, but...
Nurburgring, completed it mate
1220 miles in 4 days, including 7 laps of the Ring, the little Clio was absolutely f**king faultless. What an absolute riot!
Feels a little sorry for itself now, with a few niggles to sort, but overall so so pleased with how it performed over the weekend...
Steady 250 mile round-trip in the Clio over the weekend,
The smaller 15s have had quite an effect on the gearing meaning the exhaust drone now annoyingly kicks in just under 70mph rather than 75ish. D'oh.
Averaged a nice 45mpg though, and the Recaro's are so comfortable for long drives, such...
To be fair mate I’ve recently put 15s on and I think I’d go a touch lower if I could. But can’t justify a new set of adjustable coilovers for the sake of 10/15mm. Check my progress thread if you want an idea.
Yeah mate getting rid of the standard seats makes an absolute world of difference, assuming you've changed/ you're changing the steering standard wheel too?
There's of course some play in the sliders so they're not as rigid as fixed seats, obviously they're not going into a gt2 RS which corners and brakes at mind bending speeds so it won't make a huge difference through. I tracked mine twice and they were fine.
I had corebeau Clubsports buckets. Fitted with universal side mounts, fixed to universal sliding rails which in turn were fixed to Jon foz frames. Worked perfectly. Probably can’t “recommend” them for track use (if that’s what you had in mind) as they were cheap eBay ones but did the job for me.
In my pure rage after finding out the wheel spacer had failed I completely forgot to measure the thickness when hastily buying new ones.
So enter 20mm spacers, despite the old ones only being 16mm... :ROFLMAO: Zero interest in comparing offsets and widths of the Ultraleggeras and my Turinis...
With my first trip to the Nurburgring approaching it was time to invest in some more track-focused 15" wheels,
The tread on my 16" PS3s are wearing low so it was a choice between investing £400+ into a new set of tyres, or find a set of lighter 15" wheels with good tyres and kill 2 birds with...
Few snaps from Donington last Monday evening.
Clio took another hammering but was faultless again!
Will let the photo's do the talking, they came out rather well with the sunset😎
