Thanks to @Djw John for selling and dropping it off in the van. Safety devices full cage, although I'm only planning on fitting the rear, I think.

Aye it was looking clean today!

No problem bringing it through. If you fit the front half it means you have to get rid of the sun visors but if you leave the door bars off then getting in and out isn't affected.

Not much happened recently. Ordered new fitting plates for the cage from safety devices which are made to order and haven't arrived yet. The drivers omp subframe for the buckets has a crack which I didn't notice but rentec did so I decided to buy a Jon foz xlow one which arrived the next day, great service @JON FOZ . Bought a pair of sabelt harnesses 4 point to go in with the clubsports and rear cage which will all get done once the bits arrive from sd.

Noticed coolant on the driveway and turned out radiator was shagged. Bought new forge silicon hoses from pms as I thought it was worth changing the original hoses at the same time. Dropped it at rentec who changed the rad and hoses for me. They were out of type d coolant but are going to swap it foc when I take it back in. Some pics

Not much happening with the cup over winter it's tucked up in the garage only coming out at weekends for a quick run to keep the battery charger. I have picked up a ktec sports cat which was brand new never fitted off a forum member who was selling his car at a very good price and given the standard cats are selling for £500 i can put the cat funds towards finally getting the seats/cage etc fitted when the weather improves so I can enjoy the car over summer.

These came up local to me and are as new having come off a track car that's been broken for parts and had done 1 track day. I'm off work for 2 weeks soon and looking to get the car in to get a few things fitted at rentec including these and the clubsports and safety devices rear cage.

I am waiting on getting the cup back with various new goodies fitted so will update with pics hopefully next week. The sports cat and ktec top mounts are on, not driven it yet so can't comment on how they feel, and it's passed its MOT without needing anything doing which was a bonus.
Oh and I finally decided to get something I'd been considering for a while....

Over the last couple of months I’ve read posts and Facebook posts about cats being worth quite a lot and I always wondered why? What makes them worth so much

Update. Finally got the vibra mounts fitted to the car, not much more vibration and definitely tightened things up. Passed its mot without issue and had an oil and filter change done whilst it was in at rentec in Edinburgh who also fitted the mounts. Next up get the full black series bushes fitted that I bought ages ago now.

I've had soooo many cars since this, including other 172/182's and it's the only one I keep coming back to

I currently have a circa 850hp Mk4 Supra and even that I've never loved as much as this Clio
Really have so much regret

hi mate yes still got it. been buying some more bits for it which should be going on next spring. it will be going away in the garage for the winter which i do every year with it. belts will be due again next year on years not mileage so i sourced a set of 197 cams to go in it when belts are done. i have a full set of powerflex black series bushes to go in it and also picked up a nearly new ttv lightened flywheel and valeo clutch which will also be going on and then my aim is to get it to efi to be mapped with the cams done. shes being well looked after.

Yes mate felt the same with some of my old cars so totally know how it feels. I remember my mint Williams 3 I sold that was written off by the boy I sold it to I was gutted!

Cars going in next weekend to renomotive as belts are due on time (definitely not mileage lol) and the 197 cams I have are also going in. Stu is also going to fit the ttv lightened flywheel and clutch and also fit the full powerflex black series bushes kit I bought ages ago. Also decided to buy some spacers as I really like the way @MrBlonde Old cup and 182 sit.

Had the cup out for a drive and noticed a burning smell when I got on the bypass at 60mph, came off the first slip road and stopped at the lights and to my horror so smoke coming from the front of the car! Panicking I parked at the services which was just round the corner and popped the bonnet fearing the worst. Engine was running fine and couldn't see anything obvious so after leaving it to cool down I drove it slowly back the couple of miles to Rentec and left it with them. Turned put n/s/f brake caliper was binding on hence the smoke and was shot, o/s/f not much better so 2 new front calipers were fitted by them and it was now ready for it to go to Stu at Renomotive for the big jobs to be done. Dropped it off today knowing its in good hands. Few pics

Stu has the special timing tool for the 197 cams to advance the intake cam and once all the bits are fitted and belts etc done it's going in to sos motorsport to be mapped

Picked the car up today from stu at renomotive. Cars driving great, booked in for mapping in 2 weeks time so drove it back gently given the cams/timing changes. It was engine out job as stu said it would be easier given everything that was to be done and he steam cleaned the engine bay etc whilst it was out and tidied up Heat shield etc. Crank seal was also weeping so it was also replaced. Big shout to stu for all the work.
