After my engine mounts were done, I could finish up the weighloss programm in the front.
I mounted the new radiator on my splitter to get it nice and low. With the position of the radiator determined, I could mount the cross bar. This crossbar saved me another 2,6 kg's alone, which is nice...
For step 2 of my winter project, I made a couple of new engine mounts.
I wasn't going to pay nearly 400 Pounds for the Pure Motorsport ones, and I've seen @RuskiWeldShit 'copy' them, but I've decided to copy the design from the original Clio Cup racers, as it looked a lot simpler, and I've...
The mount has to take up the strength that's lost with the cutting in the chassis leg I suppose? Hence the thickness?
As it's a populair swap in the older (lighter) Honda's, it can't be too much, I doubt the handling will be affected much.
I'm one of those guys that can't get my rear brakes warm. I'm also still on the original brake pads since I've got the car.
At least one of my calipers has been replaced, so I guess they are both working.
But my compensate valve could be past it's best. Is there any way to check this? Or just...
The weight loss programm continues.
In this corner it wasn't really worth it, just 300 grams, but it's all part of the bigger plan. :p
I've also order a smaller radiator,
Saving a kilogramm alone on the radiator, which is a nice save.
I will mount it on the splitter, and I will make...
Step 1 of my winter/2021 project is finished, I moved the battery from the engine compartment to behind my seat.
For those interested, I added 600 grams worth of cable. :p
I've drained the oil, and there's definately metal in there.
Kind of funny when you can make magnetic fields with a magnet.
I'm no expert on this, but does this indicate bearing wear? The oil is about a year and a half old, and I know that the oil didn't come out like this the last time I...
Thanks, I'll do that. The oil is about a year or so old.
I might have to add that I have a Scenic shifter, and I've bent it back, a bit too far for the reverse gear actually. So it is now difficult to get into reverse, but it goes in reverse without crunches or anything, it's just that I have...
You mean the clutch release bearing? Or one inside the gearbox?
It sounds like a bearing to me as well, but I can't figure out why it's only in reverse. I mean, all the gears use the same bearings right?
