I've been having issues when I start the car from cold, that it doesn't want to idle. I have to give it revs for half a minute or so, and than it can idle by itself. Is this the idle valve (or what's it called?), that sits at the bak of the intake manifold? Or could it be something else?
Mine is about 51 mm on the outside of the ribs, I'll do a better measurement later tonight. Coincidentally I have the alternator off the car at the moment.
I drove Assen in July when it was pouring wet, not drizzling like at the Ring trackday. I had a couple of moment there, but it was nowhere near as slippery as it was on the Ring. Didn't expect this as well.
Likewise.
I will definately be going back, just most likely not next year, as my wife...
I had my project thread title changed, as the 130i is long gone, and just 'Trackday Clio 172' can't be an uncommon project thread title, so I asked to have it changed to 'Project Lightweight', as that seems to be the main subject on my car.
To continue with that theme, as the Nürburgring trip...
I agree, but interesting thing is that my wife's 2015 Audi A3 only prescribes a mileage of 210000 km's, and no age. I mean, a belt is a belt right? Or have they changed over the years, quality/construction wise?
Would you recommend a Danst ITB kit to anyone else, or better to go for a Ktec DTH kit, or a PMS Jemvey one?
Also, what kind of power does it make now?
I've got a 1 kg battery in mine, that includes the bracket I made for it. It is a decent amount of weight saving, but like said before, weight saving is only worth it of your going all in, which basically makes it useless as a road car.
If it's a full on road car, I'd personally keep it as...
Then, the big event was going to happen. I was supposed to go there with a friend, but he tested positive for Covid-19, so I was there all by myself. Now, I can be alone pretty good when I'm in my garage for example, but sitting in a restaurant with nobody to talk to is just weird. But, I had to...
After that, it was time to prepare for the oncoming Nürburgring trip.
I didn't want to carry my wet tyre set inside the Clio, because the inside will look like a mess after a while, and I didn't want a tyre rack in the front of the trailer, as it would make the noseweight far to heavy. So I...
The 30th of September I had Assen booked again, and met up with some guys from Volksforum.com. On of them has a really nice Golf MK1 which is below 700 kg's, and has a 200+ hp 1.6 16v engine, the other one has a kind of rough sleeper looking MK2 Golf with a 300+ hp 1.8T inside.
After the last...
Golf R is a completely different car compared to an old Clio. My mate has a 440 hp Golf R, and it drives that kind of horsepower like it's stock. Really really good car.
My personal feelings about the Clio say that a low boost conversion is enough, and that 230 to 250 hp on NA form would be...
While I find this interesting, what always comes straight to my mind is, how much is useable in a street or track car. I think anything above 250 hp is getting a bit silly in a lightweight front wheel drive car. Yet, car's like the Pinderwagen for example seem to handle quite a bit more.
