    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

I'll first try to fix it the cheap and easy way. If that doesn't work and I need to change calipers, it might make sense to upgrade. I know you have a set that fits under 15's, and is just gathering dust. 😁😉

Car pulls to the right under hard braking

Don't really know what you mean with loose under braking, but it's pulling to the right, and I have to correct of with the steering wheel.

Car pulls to the right under hard braking

True, in my project page, that is what it shows, but as the alligner was setting the toe, it changes constantly, and at the moment of the picture, the difference was the most extreme. But there is a difference in the camber, for sure. I didn't get the car corner weighed.

Car pulls to the right under hard braking

Will do. Do I grease them with some sort of grease? What type?

Car pulls to the right under hard braking

My car pulls to the right under hard braking. I can manage it with a little correction through the steering wheel, but it's not confidence inspiring. My brake setup is pretty basic, Ferodo DS 1.11 brake pads and Brembo HC disks at the front with braided brake lines. The rear is stock. I...

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

Went to Zandvoort today, had a really really good day to say the least. :D:D My wife went along for the day. Because of Corona, there were protocols to folow, but nothing major. First session I wanted to take it easy to get used to the car again, and make sure nothing fell off. :p...

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

I got the car alligned today, as I'll be going to Zandvoort this Saturday.  This is with the Laguna hubs, and the PMS roll centre correction kit. Camber is set to the max through the adjustable PMS welding plates, and the BC Racing top mounts, and caster is also set to the max...

Haha, okay, didn't know that. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

    Clio 172 track car

Who cares about the bonnet when stuff like this has been installed? :ROFLMAO: How does it drive? Does it accelerate quicker with the lighter flywheel and shorter ratio? And how is the grip out of the corners?

    Inferno Supercharger Build #mysatsuma

This will be a high end build to say the least. 👍 But which fluid was a 100 Pounds per bottle? 😃

If you had to choose one or the other for your clio?

Polybushes and Yanoo shifter kit. 😉

TomoTek - 182 Track Build here we come!...

Good posting, I like that. I'm still working on my mechanical grip, still have to test the Roll centre kit for example. But as the car was, with the splitter, I never felt the need for a wing.

    Rev counter doesn't work

Allright, so I've pulled a test wire from pin 70 at the ECU to B4 at the instrument panel, and, Bingo, revs. 😀

TomoTek - 182 Track Build here we come!...

I can understand your not a fan of the big brackets, but regarding position of the wing, doesn't placing the wing further back give more clean air, and more moment/torque (I don't know the correct English word)?

    Rev counter doesn't work

Still dealing with this issue. Can anyone inform me, which pins I need at the ECU and the instrument cluster? Are the ones in the pictures I added the correct ones?

    B-shaw’s PH1 Exclusive

Oh yes, I will be following this with great interest, as it is on my mind as well for quite some time.

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

@New2RS I couldn't find the exact video with the oversteer moment, but you can look at my youtube channel, stefanschulte1 and try to find it yourself, I know it was at Meppen. But to me the manual steering is absolutely fine. I can understand that in daily driving, it can be a bit...

    Engine rebuild

@plees So what's your result with the 197 cams and your current setup, and what were you expecting with the full 197 hybrid build?

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

Thanks for reading. I'll get back to your question about the steering. I have a small oversteer correction on YouTube somewhere, I'll look it up. 😉👍

    Rev counter doesn't work

Does a phase 1 need to know the wheel speed? Engine speed is taken of the flywheel right? No, I haven't, but thanks for your input.

    Rev counter doesn't work

I've been working on my wheel wells, for which I had to remove the fuse housing. After I have put it all back together, the engine runs fine (at least at low rpm's/load, because that's all I can do on the streets near my house), no errors on the dash, but my rev counter doesn't work. I'm...

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

I couldn't tell really. I only drove at low speed in 2nd gear. At this speeds, steering already was quite heavy before the conversion. Didn't really pay attention to it though, I was more interested in any unwanted noises or weird feelings throught the steering wheel etc. But the fact that I...

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

Small update. The car is back on the ground, brakes are bled, I washed it, and took it out for a small test run around the block. No strange noises in the suspension, it all seemed fine, so that's good. Caster surely has increased a bit.

    Clio 172 track car

    That's impressive. (y)

    Where’s my caster?

Get a set of BC's, and it's a piece of cake. But if you want a lot of caster with the Laguna hubs, you need to modify your wheel hub. 😉

    Arctic 182 for Track

With a battery this light, I really can't see a reason to mount it elsewhere than the original position.

    Monaco 172 Track Car

They look quite wide for a 7 inch wheel. I like the look, it's different. 👍
