Unfortunately I didn't get a diagram.
I got things working to a point, but control the heat manually, full hot or full cold. That's good enough for my application.
Can't help with your fault finding I'm afraid.
I have just bought an RSTuner for re-mapping and that's showing me loads of stored...
Just a quick update to say thanks.
With the resistor connected the DTCs changed to stored rather than live so I could erase them, and now I have no EML on the dash.
Next step is to install the new map, but I might wait until I've had a track outing so I can see what difference it makes.
I've...
Many thanks for that @Brigsy
I will order that resistor for the canister wiring immediately.
The AC fault doesn't bring up the fault light on the dash, it just comes up on my RSTuner ( a very recent acquisition ).
I thought I'd try to clear as many faults as possible before applying a mild...
I have a couple of ECM faults I'd like to get rid of. Clio 182.
One is A/C pressure. The Air Con kit has been removed, but the pressure sensor plug is just hanging. Is there a resistor that I can use?
Secondly, when I removed the fuel vapour canister I kept the purge solenoid plugged in and...
Wiith larger front brakes (Ceika 6 pot in my case) just removing the fog lights and arch linings has meant that I have had no brake cooling issues, without any ducting.
This includes Lydden Hill in the summer, which has no straights to cool the brakes, just accelerate and brake as hard as...
So you have to lose the positive crankcase ventilation that sucks vapour out of the crank case if you use a catch tank?
If you just vent the tank to atmosphere, and bung the inlet hole of course, you no longer have any suction.
Does that in turn decrease the effectiveness of removing oil and...
On an FR4 engine do you cause any issues by venting to atmosphere through a catch tank, in that you lose the suction (PCV?) effect of having the vent pipe plugged into the intake.
Or is it best to route the pipe through the catch tank and back to the intake?
Many thanks for that first hand experience of the same set up. Very useful indeed. I won't mess about with the cable or anything else until I've had a chance to give it a good drive.
I've stretched my mind back to 2003 when I had an rx-7. New uprated clutch fitted in Reading and the drive back...
Quick update.
Sachs Clutch fitted
Gearbox re-fitted and ready to go back into the car
I'm happy to report that having fitted everything back into the car, drip-fed the gearbox the special MT-90, and re-filled the coolant and PAS fluids I finally plucked up the courage to start it.
Bloody...
How much would a second hand OEM 182 cat cost now?
Yesterday I noticed in the corner of the shed the one I cut out a couple of years ago, it's never going back in as it's a track only car now.
Just interested to see if it's worth selling.
Hi Rob, It does indeed appear that I am guilty of what one manual politely describes as 'incorrect driven practice'.
The change down for the elbow at Lydden is just at too high road speed, but holding third doesn't work as you're then directly up a steep hill.
Both failures have been...
Gearbox back from Mark @NorthloopCup ,having had diff service, new final drive and new casing.
Excellent service as usual, highest recommendations!
No excuse now, I've got everything I need including the precious Redline MT90
Now to slowly and carefully put it all back together..........sure...
Forgot to update.
The bolts turned up in good time and are the correct item.
I would happily use that supplier again.
I also had good service from these guys for gaskets, clutch cable etc. https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/renault-carparts/clio-ii-bb0-1-2-cb0-1-2/17869
Think it all comes from...
Just a quick update, mainly to say thanks for all the advice, I have heeded it, and once again this forum has proved itself invaluable in providing free specialist advice on a car I don't have much experience with.
The gearbox is currently with Mark having a diff service, replacement casing...
Foolishly I didn't heed your advice, and just ordered them online!
No communication as yet to say if they are on the way, so I might have to do some chasing
What a great site, many thanks for that.......although I'm still struggling!
The nearest thing I can find is this
The bolt I need looks like 7 (see photo below), but it has a very weird description 'SCR-RELAY-BRG MTG', and when you click on the part number it says nothing found!
The other...
Great thread, very useful.
There's a bolt I'm after that I can't see listed, but maybe I'm just not looking properly!
The 182 offside driveshaft has a jointed 'carrier' that bolts to the engine block with three bolts.
I've lost one. (Dickhead!)
They are an odd bolt as they have an unthreaded...
I've just had my RS intake manifold vapour blasted to clean it up.
Very pretty as photo below, could swear it has been painted silver.
However I'm not really into bling if it doesn't help you go faster.
So, matching the ports on your intake tracts makes sense. Or at least making sure the...
As per title, I've seen pictures of this 4 to 2 to 1, and a different 4 to 1 manifold both advertised as '182 manifolds'
Can someone clarify please
It's stainless and obviously tubular rather than cast, so 3 more questions!
Is it worth replacing with anything less that a complete different...
Hi Chris, we've both got transmission issues then!
Worth taking my woes into account if you come to Lydden regularly, particularly if you end up with the same or new clio with an LSD.
You may well need a stronger clutch.
Changing into 2nd at the elbow with standard ratios (this is a 182...
I have the PMS aircon delete kit on my 182 and have fitted a cheapo RTX 110amp alternator, all working ok.
Can't help with the belt, unless you also have the PMS lightweight pulleys fitted, in which case don't do what I nearly did......swap your alternator in for the surcharge without first...
I did end up taking the rad out, mainly to avoid smashing into it, but then there seemed to be enough room without going any further.
Just looking at the photo again I obviously forgot to take the extinguisher pipe and nozzles off, again to avoid smacking them. Maybe I should do that before...
Due to repeated clutch failure (discussed elsewhere) I now have the engine out of the car, and under cover in my excuse for a garage.
It's unlikely to see the track until next season.
The main upgrade will be the cure for the clutch issue: Sachs clutch from PMS, and a new Gripper 4.53 final...
I recently decided to take the engine out of the 182 to properly examine the clutch (all covered in my clutch damage thread), and looking at engine crane hire prices it made sense to buy one, as I'll want to take my time cleaning the engine etc.
I got an SGS 1 Tonne crane and engine leveller...
Many thanks for the reply @Martin_172 , looks like I might be solving the problem with a higher final drive ratio as suggested by @bozothenutter .
Along with hitting the limiter I've broken 2 clutch covers in short succession at Lydden Hill, all the detail is in this rather long thread...
