I'd be stupid to write off the clutch at this point on the list of suspicions so I appreciate the guesswork!
I could indeed, second felt a bit odd but I think it was still selecting? Fitted a PMS Shifter setup at the same time as box/turbo so not 100% on how things are supposed to feel yet
This is probably the solution and I think I'm slowly coming to terms with that. It's a shame because these are cracking little motors
I've always fancied a classic Impreza turbo (UK2000 perhaps?) Although I feel that would be a worse can of worms to open hearing all the stories of bottom end woes!
Sorry mate should have explained that one better, absolutely flawless operation one minute, as I came off a roundabout and changed into third as soon as I lifted the clutch there was a dull sort of 'thud' and now it grinds in all gears. At least all the forward ones haven't tried reverse...
Well it does grind in all gears, very reminiscent of when I had a Golf MK4 as these often used to pop the circlip in the outer join. Strangely though as me and a mate went to push it, if I had it in first gear with the clutch pedal down it groaned like mad, as soon as it was out of gear and the...
I had thought that, made a post before and it all got put down to driver error?
I need to have a look at what's failed first, should be getting it recovered back to mine today and I've got a day off tomorrow to look.
Just FYI also I'm in no way slating anyone's work on any of the boxes, just...
Urm the first was the factory one, that was surcharge swapped for a KTEC Rebuilt one. And when the KTEC one died I bought a second hand box for £50 and had that rebuilt by a local firm in Kings Lynn. And when that one died it got sent up to NorthLoopCup for a full rebuild with the quaife LSD...
So guys a little history on my car. I've owned the ph2 coming up 3 years, racking up about 60,000 miles during this time. It's an absolutely cracking car to drive and I've got to say I'm absolutely addicted and attached to the car.
That being said, it's a cracking car to drive when it drives...
Hi All,
I suspect the adjusters are broken on my headlights. Changed the HID Bulbs at the weekend and the housing that holds the bulbs is loose and wobbly. Seem to remember this being down to the plasticy ball joints breaking? So I was wondering what my best path is from here on. I can think of...
That's what i had thought, i've got the coolant temp logged also, and it shows a different value. It might have some sort of relationship between the two programmed in?
Hi All,
Recently completed turbo converting my 172 and as such need to get some gauges on the go, i took a punt on an Autool X60 (Chinesium grade gauge thing that uses OBD) to see what it would read as I've used the torque apps on VAG 1.8t's before which display a fair amount of data. The gauge...
Not sure if it helps at all, but I had a throttle potentiometer circuit fault on mine that came down to a wire shorting.
The ECU casing tab that bolts on near the suspension turret had broken allowing the wires to rub on the metal casing. This just wore through the insulation enough to...
Had a mate who had one in an EK4, if you dont mind having to swing the shifter from the rear seats through your head unit on a 4th to 5th change then they're alright height wise. They just massively increase the throw
Not tried this on a Clio, but on other stuff I've worked on, if it starts the car but the central locking doesn't work, you can buy any central locking board from any key and program it using the factory procedure. This Normally involves a series of presses/key positions and sometimes two keys...
Can't believe you got pulled up on the BS marks... mine sailed through the last with the shorter front plate on with no mention of it, suppose its complete luck of the draw!
Seeing how clean and tidy your car is as a whole makes me wish I looked after mine a lot more. 3 years ownership in march...

Looks like one of these to me. 15 splines square cut teeth
Just looked through all these and found @VeinAST was the previous owner of my Clio judging by the private plate V28 LJO, amazing what a thread resurrection can bring up
Okay so once again more investigation while the car is off the road! I took the intake manifold off along with throttle body etc. it seems there's a lovely coating of black oil deposit on everything past where the breather comes back into the intake. Looking down into the lower inlet there's a...
That's also assuming its not a non-sport phase 1, which also had the single H4 Dipped/High Beam bulb. I think maybe the OP has had a bulb terminology mix up!
He is indeed, I've yet to hear the full story from him, but your car definitely left a lasting impression! I was planning on heading there with him but once again mines broken
So a mate of mine in his cup was having a little play at a certain venue today and spotted this...
Mental looking project and hopefully a short report back of the days antics soon??
I don't work in that side of the business (more corporate/enterprise) but we have a 'help a friend' scheme that should get you a priority phone call to try resolve things quicker. Got a colleague that is a bit of a whizz with the router too as he's got it at home
