Wanting to use the interior light (by the rear view) to power a light on my cage. So will need to run some additional wiring through the car - I want to keep it working with the doors opening and the OE switch.
Electronics isn't something I'm too clued up on, so...Question being what rating of...
I've "restored" my headlights with the 3M kit and they look brand new again. However I have been told i need to apply a sealant otherwise they'll just yellow up again in a few months.
What do I need? No idea what I'm looking for TBQH
After managing to get the belt on the pulleys (removing PAS pulley). The belt doesn’t sit centrally or in-line on the middle pulley (picture attached). Tried a few times Taking the belt on offbut always got the same result
I haven’t yet turned the engine of by hand via the crank pulley (furthest...
Rummaging around the garage I found two flange nuts (serrated) but they’re zinc plated - can’t see tho being an issue can you? Or would self colour be a slightly better option
Dryclough Lane Garage in Halifax. I used to use them all the time when I worked in Brighouse. Renaultsport specialists, according to themselves, did have a tidy collection of RS models including a spider and a v6
I did start to consider making a piece up to replace the original support that was tidier/functional, and the same-ish shape to keep the rigidity.
My current method is crude, but works (I hope/think)
There must be a way to fully remove it, but the bumper will be floppy. I never thought about taking it off completely, just removed some material to make it functional enough to get some more cold air in (but then put the reg back on for road use)
The above image isn’t my car, I have however cut holes through my bumper, I just cut through the reinforcing part also. It’s a bit messy from behind, but you can’t see that bit...
Need to get some threadlock for the pms ac delete bracket. Manual just says threadlock, not what strength.
Assuming medium with be enough or high strength worth using?
I need to get my ac delete kit and alternator on the car, mot it and then I’ll be booking myself on. This is the main reason I’ve been trying to get the car back on the road after 2 years in the garage.
Fingers crossed it still goes ahead
Yeah I had another look, must have had a moment of being a div, clearly says 5 bolts lol. Mustn’t have read it properly, I blame the poor lighting in the garage tbh....
Looks like there’s two bolts that go in the side I f1 the Ac pump bracket. Ones a bit awkward due to the roller being in the way.
PMS website guide has been updated to show the new bracket design. I emailed to see if they had an old copy but they replied saying they saved over it
After a little help, having some confusion with removing the bracket that the a/c mounted to (might be being a bit thick). See attached picture for reference, three bolts out the front and it’s not shifting - can see two bolts on the left of the bracket, do these need to come out?
Also looking...
Whilst removing my alternator/AC today, as I attempted to crack the nut holding the red power supply lead, the terminal gave up and the cable hung loose.
The crimp part of the terminal is still on the wire. May have been why my alternator died, crappy connection maybe?
Either way, I need to get...
No the pms ac delete kit (and the above alternator, can see the pms bracket still attached) are in a box waiting for me to get around to it. AC is still on the car (even though it doesn’t work).
Not good then. So it’ll be safe for now as long as the battery isn’t connected again I take it?
I do have another one that came with a PMS ac delete kit. Not sure if it’ll be ok to use part number wise? It’s been in a box for over a year and looks in good nick
(First pic is the one on the car...
So my cars been stood (in a dry garage) for a couple months, it’s sorn’d so usually gets a short run down the road and back if it’s dry weather.
Battery had died so I’ve had it on charge (battery is kept off/outside the car).
Put it back on today and smelt something funny, so pulled the...
