Great stuff, once you've had 300 2.8 you never go back :) That and an 80-200 is pretty much the perfect motorsport setup imo, as much as I love my 120-300 I do miss the days of my 300 f4 and 80-200 2.8.
Can't wait to see how you get on with it, I loved having a long prime but some people...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Possible, there was a pretty poor broken first version apparently. For £1.19 I'm not complaining, will probably make my money back on it within a couple of weeks.
Why?! The missus is sending me pics when she is out shopping all the time saying "think this looks...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Genuinely surprised that two people can have such differing experiences of one product. I was in town today so tried South Park on DVD...
As expected it found it no problem, took about a second (on Edge) to bring up the results.
Basically, if you scan...
Where do you draw the line, two seats and a roof?!
Most people would agree that a Caterfield is a production road car, and that's not a million miles away from a Radical. I've seen a Radical on UK roads before: it's a road car.
In my opinion it's more of an achievement than these one-off...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Not tried it for food, and probably never would to be honest. For what I would use it for (games, CDs, DVDs, books) it's been faultless so far.
Every single non-food barcode I could find in the house scanned instantly, everything from my original Quackshot box for...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
RedLaser is superb, one of those useful things you always hoped would exist...and does.
Now I can walk round HMV and actually find out if Juno at £3 is a reasonable price or not (it was)
Using it on 3G (it's even better on 3GS due to autofocus apparently) and...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Yup that's a good one, gets very very tough.
The free VW Scirocco game is pretty cool as well, nice graphics and pretty good handling once you've adjusted it to suit.
Re: O2 Forever ?
Amusing reading about coverage dependant on where you live. Orange inform me that where I live/work has 100% coverage, yet when I was on Orange I could rarely get a connection at home or work, rendering my phone utterly useless. There are still a few people at work on Orange...
This was my main thought really. Exceptional images, technically very very good, but once you've seen a conventional rig shot you've seen a million (in my opinion)
That takes nothing away from how good these shots are, I just think it got to a stage where it's seriously overdone. Thankfully...
It's just bad luck, you could replace it with a Canon and get similar problems, I don't think any brand is more problematic than the other in terms of faults etc.
My first D50 broke after a week, the replacement is still going strong 4 years later.
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Seriously...
geoDefense Swarm
It's taken over my life, was up till 1am playing it this morning. 59p is just staggering value when you find a game you love and play that much.
Great cameras, most of my family have them (genuinely!) after I recommended them to pretty much anyone who asked.
My parents travel all over the world and the pics they bring back from their TZ7s are amazing, considering how much zoom they pack they are exceptionally good (and great at macro...
Oddly I drove straight in at 8:30 (literally right up to the Quarry paystation without stopping), I met up with Kilvy and he did the same around lunchtime. The field to the left of the entrance wasn't even full when I left at 3.
No idea why it wasn't so busy this year, compared to Japfest it...
Nick has explained it below, I've been using them for nearly 6 years now and can't fault them, excellent service. If I remember correctly they lock your annual fee when you join, so I'm still paying 2004 rates.
No, can't afford it at the moment. Worked for approx. 50% of shots, hence me not...
Hard to remember as he was at that angle most of the day, but I think he did on that occasion as he only span out once or twice that I saw.
That car seems bomb-proof, on track for virtually every session, then did the feature stage, then did the slowly sideways demo, then did the sessions...
Had a reasonable day down at Combe, weather was perfect but the organisation this year seemed a bit rough around the edges, huge gaps between track activity (hour and half around lunchtime amongst others) meant it was a bit boring at times. Thankfully the crowds were smaller this year, so parked...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Comes up with minutes and texts remaining, then you can view further details such as your bill by selecting the options along the bottom.
I'm going, not looking forward to the crowds though, and my favourite (relatively quiet) shooting spot now has a dirty great fence in the way, in fact I'm not actually looking forward to it that much!
And yet it's still the most talked about/purchased driving series, despite not really having had any significant changes for 10 years.
Apparently, people really like car-collect-em-ups.
I always figured this would the moment I would buy a PSP...but maybe not http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/gran-turismo-review
I need a structure to play something like this. Really have no idea what PD have actually been doing for the past 5 years apart from modelling cars.
I've seen a few on the road now and they certainly have presence, and most definitely could not be mistaken for a TT.
Seems to get a bad rep, but it's doing exactly what it intended to do and is much cheaper than the cars most people seem to bracket it with. I think they've hit the nail on...
